Great guides and spectacular views and waterfalls pools to swim in. - Very enjoyable trek with lovely 3 guides, who were well informed, patient, caring and equipped with good humour and delicious Roti. The whole trek for 6 hours can be quite challenging for older people or those who don’t exercise too much on daily basis, as slopes are quite steep covered in lush vegetation branches and roots intertwined, but it is ok for most people as routes are traversable and the amazing views and opportunities of swimming in waterfalls pools are absolutely worth every effort.

Highlight of our holiday! - This excursion was the highlight of our holiday. Jacky is a wonderful, informative and supportive guide. The views are wonderful and not to be missed. Reading other reviews, you might think as we did that this is an easy hike, it is NOT. Please be mindful that most of the hike is either almost straight up or straight down and will take a lot of energy. No, we aren't youngsters but not quite pensioners either! Take the plunge and try it, just be ready for a workout! Jacky was fabulous and helped us all the way. Mauritian snacks were provided which were delicious.

Great day out in nature - A fantastic hike through the countryside to visit the falls. Everything was perfectly planned with Vik and he was an informative and skilled guide. We always felt safe even though it was challenging at times. He provided delicious snacks and showed us the best places to swim and enjoy the water. Yes there were mosquitoes which enjoyed the odd snack on us but we wouldn’t have missed it as it was truly breathtaking. Vik made the day even more special.

An excellent tour - A great hike I definitely recommend for those who love water and nature. The hike lasted around 3 hours in total and included multiple stops at respective waterfalls down the valley. We were a small group of around 9 and had the opportunity to swim to the base of different waterfalls, so I really do recommend bringing your swimming costume underneath your hiking clothes! I also recommend bringing some long sleeves trousers (the mosquitoes really love me so this added some protection). There will also be opportunities to do some bigger dives from one of the waterfalls and pools are filled with small fish that will nibble on your feet. Our guide Freddy was very knowledgeable on the area and was very supportive and encouraging when I wanted to try activities out of my comfort zone. He is also a very good photographer and videographer and will take some amazing photos for you. The food he brought, a more traditional Mauritian lunch, was very tasty.

Such a highlight of our trip!! - What a dat we had exploring the waterfalls! It was so special and magical. The views are spectacular, and swimming in the waterfalls were a real highlight! Vik our guide was really fun and informative making sure we were all ok on the hikes to each waterfall. The path itself is a little tricky but nothing to worry about if you're in decent fitness and don't mind getting a little grubby. I think it all added to the fun! Was definitely a highlight of our trip in Mauritius so would really recommend booking something off the tourist beat.

Fun in the rain, great guides! - This was an excellent tour and didn’t disappoint. Kurt and his trainee Amondine were the perfect guides, telling us all about local plants and making sure we were ok along the way. The waterfall swimming experience was really fun….. despite my difficulty getting out of the slippery sides and Kurt (who didn’t hesitate to help me) likening me to a seal! He also personally provided us with a local Mauritian snacks instead of the usual bland sarnies. Safety was always a first, and the slightly inclement weather made some of the way a bit muddy and hard going for a basic fitness 50 year old woman, but Kurt made sure I was ok and happy all the way, assisting me with ropes, hands and always politely asking if he may before giving me a gentle push! My partner and I really enjoyed this day and cannot recommend enough.

Fabulous day but be prepared! - Vikram was a superb guide, fun, informative and always checking on our safety. Couldn't ask for better. He took us to some fabulous sites, gave us as much time as we wanted and his sense of humour was great too. He brought along a "Mauritian" lunch which was all Veggie and very tasty as well as water for us. Far too much for us to finish, so you needn't bring any snacks. As well as seeing the waterfalls, we got to go under a waterfall, swim in one of the pools and also had a foot spa where little fish nibble at your naked feet when you dangle them in the water. Make sure you have swimwear and a towel or you will feel really disappointed not to get in the water. Please Note: the TripAdvisor write up before we went was, err, a bit light on detail! 😳 When you go - and you really should - be aware this is a very physical day out. A reasonable level of fitness, particularly legs, is essential. You spend a fair time scrambling a long way up and down banks using rocks, roots and branches to get about in order to see the falls, on inclines 45º and steeper. And they are wet and muddy. You will get dirty! This is not a hike on a well paved path and a guide like Vikram is essential to show the way and keep you safe. It adds to the enjoyment of the day - all part of the experience - but come prepared. We would recommend you wear proper footwear/hiking shoes - our trainers were soon slippery as the treads became full of mud - you may want to wear trousers rather than shorts, definitely take anti-mozzie stuff and you may want a spare pair of shoes for when you get back to your car/taxi as the ones you wear on the trail will be filthy and possibly soaked. This was a fabulous day out, challenging, fun, informative and rewarding. Highly, highly recommended.
