Wonderful experience - The trip was incredible. The Salt Flats are one of the most beautiful places on Earth. The tour included much more than I expected. Not just the salt flats, but lagoons, canyons desert, geysers and hot springs, Oh and an “island” of corals with cacti.. Huascar was our driver, guide and generally everything and more than one could wish for. He is knowledgeable and friendly and genuinely cares that everyone has a good time. We always felt safe with him and on a tour in such a remote area, that matters a lot

Unforgetable experience! - Incredible experience, the organization of the tour is very good, we slept in comfortable places, the food was always very good, we saw an incredible sunset in the salt flat and some beautiful lakes! The guide Franklin was perfect both for the photos he took and for his good vibes throughout the tour. I 100% recommend this tour with that agency and I thank them for that wonderful time I had!

Can definitely recommend, they take care you have a great experience! - We really enjoyed this tour by Andes Salt Expeditions. Our tourguide Axel was very friendly and knowledgeable and speaks excellent English. Everything on the tour was well organised and they made sure there were no unpleasant surprises even those things can happen on adventures like this. You'll go home with great pictures to show and the only thing I could recommend is invest more in maintaining the cars, our car didn't have heating and the power was a bit limited so on some climbs we had to get out, of course no big deal but could be improved. All in all would definitely book again here!

A Perfect Bolivia Sampler - This tour was fantastic. The salt flats were the stars of course, but the other places (mountains, volcanos, lagoons, hot springs) made for a perfect Bolivia sampler. Our guide Ivan was very knowledgeable and professional. He always made a point of giving us a heads up on what was coming up, how long we would be there, and what we should expect. I'm a birder so I really loved the gorgeous lagoon with hundreds of flamingos. Overnight lodgings were basic but well-maintained, with good food. Considering this included two overnights, it was an excellent value for the money.

A super tour - The places are incredible, apart from the salt flat, the snow-capped mountains, the red lagoon, the gaisers, the black lagoon and many others were impressive. Our guide Franklyn was an excellent guide, with full knowledge of the places and excellent attention.

Andes Salt Expeditions Lives Up to Great Reviews - I am so glad that I made the effort to go to Uyuni and the surrounding area. I looked into a lot of operators and Andes Salt Expeditions was by far the most communicative and patiently answered all my questions. I did the medium tiered tour and had a private room with hot water shower and the accommodations surpassed my expectations as did the guide, Jose. Jose spoke excellent English and was serious about sharing with us all that he knew about the gorgeous area both geographically, culturally and historically. He was also a really good driver and clearly took good care of his vehicle. He encouraged us to share our own music while driving from place to place and was open to how long we wanted to stay at each location. I was also surprised that lunch was not just sandwiches but hot food of meat and veggies and vegans were well-accommodated. Breakfast and dinner were provided by the hotels and were of good quality. There are so many operators to choose from and I am really glad I chose Andes Salt Expeditions as I felt they made the trip a little more special and personal. We had a fun group who also seemed to choose the operator carefully. The sights you see are gorgeous and as most of the trips offer the same itinerary it is really the other aspects like the guide that make a big difference. I am really glad I did the 3 day trip and fit Uyuni into my itinerary. It's a very unique place.

Beautiful landscapes but careless guide - The landscape we were taken trough was absolutely amazing and stunning. The accommodation was good and the drivers very experienced. However, our guide only provided very limited and superficial information at the different stops and did not seem to care much about how we liked the tour. The guide did not seem to know the itinerary very well and provided different information than the driver. Moreover, we often had to ask for the plan and what was next. Lastly, the guide consequently called all the women on the tour ‘Barbie’ on the first day even after being asked to call us our real names. Over all, the landscapes you see on this tour are one of a kind and we wouldn’t have been without it, however we feel we could have gotten a lot more out of the tour if the guide had been more engaged and knowledgeable. The tour could also have been improved with a more flexible itinerary based on the group of people attending the specific tour.

Avoid if you have food intolerances - The sights on the tour are fantastic as everyone else has described. However I cannot recommend this tour if you have any kind of food intolerance. I am coeliac which means I need to eat an exclusively gluten free diet (no wheat, barley, rye etc) and I checked this with the company multiple times before and they assured me this would be fine. However on the tour our guide Axel seemed to have no understanding or interest in helping with this. He was often not present at all for meal times for me to ask or when he was (usually lunchtime) he would give me very vague answers and it was clear he had no idea. I ended up guessing a lot of the time but was often given food I knew to contain gluten (pancakes, soup, lasagne). This meant I was constantly on edge and starving. One day we woke up at 5am and I was given a single rice cake for breakfast. I’m just thankful this wasn’t a more physically challenging tour as I had no energy whatsoever and unfortunately this has made me very anxious about doing such tours in the future.
