Great day on the water and land - We had a wonderful day with Ryan as our guide! You can tell he really loves his job. He asked upfront what we hoped to see, etc. and was always making sure we were enjoying the day. The boat ride to Corcovado was over an hour and it is a bumpy ride, but enjoyable, We got a very special treat seeing humpback whales. Be prepared to enter the water to get into the boat. Ryan was able to spot a lot of wildlife for us, including beautiful macaws, other birds and an anteater. Lunch was really good on a nice beach. We got a whats app message the evening before giving us a great list of what to expect and what to bring. They included wear long sleeves, pants, hiking shoes, etc. and made a mention of the boat transfer. Had we not hiked out on the Whales Tail the morning before, we would not have realized that you get in the water and walk out to the boat. So then you have to think about getting in the water and not getting the pants wet for the boat transfer. We wore water socks and shorts for that part then changed when we got to Corcovado, but that was really a pain and probably not necessary for the day we were there anyway. I am sure long sleeves and pants were for bugs, which we didn't think was much of an issue. We did use bug spray before going. I would have been fine in capris and a long sleeve shirt, rolled up the capris to get on the boat, etc. Also, make sure you don't bring any food. I simply had a cough drop in my backpack and that was taken. Bring a full refillable water bottle. Everyone was so kind and accommodating and really wanted to make sure it was a really enjoyable day for all of us. We are glad we did this tour.

Great tour. - Walter was great, very informative and a very nice guy! Saw monkeys, crocodiles, bats and all kinds of birds. Lunch was delicious! Boat ride is jarring so be prepared for that.

Flower, fauna, family fun - A great way to spend the day off the beaten track. We went across with our 12 year old on the boat for just over an hour before setting off for a guided walk through the national park spotting wildlife, macaws, bats, crocodiles, monkeys, anteaters and keeping an eye out for puma. A gentle walk with a knowledgeable english speaking guide with a great scope for viewing and photographing wildlife that he kindly filmed and Airdropped for free at the end. A good lunch while watching whales rise from the shore. Responsible and sustainable tourism at it's best. Suitable for all ages and fitness levels, excellent communication and safety notices. Well worth the trip and thoroughly enjoyable, local guides and insights in a beautiful corner of costa rica

Best experience for any animal lover in Uvita - Absolutely amazing experience! Our guide Fabian was wonderful. We were taken care of from the moment we arrived at the office, crocs aren't considered closed toed shoes, but luckily Fabian made sure we were all good to go before embarking on our adventure. The captain of the boat was also wonderful! He spotted a turtle on our way to the park and made sure to stop so we could observe. The park itself was spectacular. Fabian's passion and knowledge for this park and these animals shine through. We saw soooo many beautiful animals and he was very aware and conscious of us in the heat, making sure the group felt good and hydrated. Lunch was fabulous and we got to see a school of dolphins on the way home! 10/10, I would recommend Martin Adventures to anyone. Do bring a raincoat or poncho during rainy season and perhaps a change of clothes in case it rains on the boat ride.

Pura Vida, Best Value, Would do Again - You will not be disappointed. Best value trip from Uvita. Can’t believe it was the cheapest! Guide was so knowledgeable, and were able to cover a lot of ground in good time. Lunch was unsurprisingly super good! Able to spot many animals, take lots of videos, and boat ride was fun on its own! Thanks again, Pura Vida!

Lots of varied activities. Full day trip. - My husband and I took the tour to Corcovado Park. It was a nice mix of activities- boat ride to the park, nature walk, lunch, and beach time. We enjoyed the park and did get to see lots of animals such as a tapir and macaws. The company communicates well in advance beforehand and provides lots of information. However there is one item that others should be aware of. They REQUIRE 'closed toe shoes' for this tour but Keens or other brand of close toe shoes with 'holes' is not acceptable. We showed up with these shoes on because we knew we were going to be boarding a boat through the water with np dock and would get wet and that we needed closed toe shoes and that could get muddy in the park. All of that we understood. But we were told that these shoes were not allowed 'in the park.' So we went back to our hotel to get our sneakers that were closed toe with 'no holes'. So now we had to still go through water and mud with our tennis shoes which has not just caused those shoes to be wet for the rest of our trip instead of the shoes that are designed for water and mud. The mainly infuriating thing is that once we got to the park....all the other tour groups' guests were walking around in the same types of shoes that we had to abandon....along with some people on flip flops. Obviously this is a minor thing however we are very seasoned travelers. We read all their communication, we had intentionally packed and selected our footwear, and just frustrated that we were told there is a 'rule' that is apparently not really a park rule but their company rule because of all the other companies that do not have this requirement.

A little disappointing - There will be 6 times that you'll need to walk through 2 to 4 foot high water to get on and off the boat. Also, if it's rained recently, you'll walk through slippery, muddy pathways most of the time at Corcovado. Bring hiking boots with good tread if you have them or, better yet, rubber boots like the guides wear. You need to carefully watch where you're walking so it's difficult to enjoy the scenery. We only saw a few birds, an agouti, a few monkeys, and a lizard at the park. We were hoping to see a tapir and, maybe a puma. The boat ride over was fun and we were lucky enough to see false killer whales. The ride back seemed long and a little bumpy. Thank goodness for a small cushion on the seats. Also, bring a reusable water bottle as they only provide water in a large cooler.

Never again, worst tour in all of Costa Rica! - The day tour with Martin Adventures was the most terrible we experienced after 3 weeks of Costa Rica. Already after booking, of course, when you could not cancel anymore, the info that you, if Corcovado is fully booked, visit an adjacent private reserve! This was then of course the case! The Capanario Biological Reserve, was then a bitter disappointment, the paths there were so bad that you only ever had to look at the path and there was no time for observation at all! Correspondingly, the sightings were exactly 2 staple monkeys in 31/2 hours! Also the guides were poorly trained to not at all, although nice and friendly, like almost all people here in this country, but she could not even display the telescope straight away, she also lost it 3 more times on the tour, because she could not even properly attach it to the tripod! Before using such staff, the basic knowledge of a Wildlife Guide should be trained! In the end we hoped to see at least a few dolphins, seabirds or whales on the 11/2 hour return journey and get explained! However, the guides preferred to sleep there rather than looking for animals! In all other parks from the North to the Caribbean and also in other Pacific resorts we have never experienced such a rip-off as today and this at least for about 130 euros per person! A cheek! Never again!’

Misleading - Upon arrival we were told our corcovado tour was combined with a Cano island snorkeling tour, meaning our time in Corcovado was cut short by half, we spent about 1.5 hours actually hiking through the park. Our guide was clearly uncomfortable rushing us through a lackluster tour and highly apologetic for us not seeing any wildlife. a woman in our small 4 person group badly burnt her feet on hot sand because Vanessa took everyones sandals away from them and had them with the other tour group. (There is a small river you have to walk through with nowhere cool to dry your feet off before putting boots back on) For some reason the tour organizer brought us to a beach to have lunch and then told us we had another 40 minutes to just sit at the beach which is not all all what i paid for or prepared for, we spent longer at this beach than we did at Corcovado . We were bait and switched in order to keep our money and given a terrible experience and a waste of nearly an entire day.
