Pretty and interesting - A slow but lovely ride through Tierra del Fuego National Park. It takes you down by the Beagle Channel and the Post Office At The End Of The World. Lovely staff.

End of world train Tierra Del Fuego - The train trip was good and the food was a pleasant surprise. The only problem was, we did not know where to obtain our tickets. It would’ve been much better if there was a better description as to where exactly to get our tickets. We were directed to a long line of people who were buying tickets and were told that we had to exchange the voucher for the tickets there. This was incorrect.we strongly recommend that you give greater detail as to where to exchange the tickets so there’s not this unpleasant tree. I’m waiting in line for nothing. We nearly missed the train.

Nice morning out but a bit overpriced - Nice little morning out. Quite hectic getting our online ticket transferred at the beginning as we needed to join a long queue to pay for our park entry tickets as we needed to pay by card. Thought it was a bit expensive for what it was but we liked learning about the history and the prison.

This would be good paired with a hike in the park. - This would have been better if paired with a hike or bus tour into the park. Without this information, we booked the later afternoon trip and it was only a train ride out and then right back the same way. If that’s all you want, fine. We wanted a bit more activity.

aspart of a... - aspart of a recommendation to someone else I would want to be clear about what to expect. The activity was well organized upon arrival. The staff was great and helpful. It was fun to see and experience the train ride itself. The whole aspect of accessing/exploring the park and not being able to return to the starting point until 4:00 PM was unclear and would have been helpful to know on the front end of the trip. As it turned out details about the park were sketchy and as a result we had not opportunity to explore although we enjoyed the scenery while on the train ride.

Save your money - I"m not sure why this got such good reviews. Yes, the train itself is pretty cool but the exploitation of the history of prisoners was a huge turn off at the station. The ride itself was long and boring. The narration had horrible background music and basically there was nothing to see... no plants, trees, flowers, buildings.. nada. The most interesting thing was a field trip of school kids who waved at us. Maybe if we had gotten off at the end and hiked around instead of riding the train right back it would have seemed more worthwhile but mostly I was happy that the ride ended and slightly annoyed that it cost so much $$.

Money thrown away - If you want to waste your money, go on this train. The stretch is very short, the train runs at 10 km/h, and it is extremely cramped, your knees are bumping into the knees of the person in front of you. The landscapes are less interesting than the ones you see on the way to the station, or anywhere you walk. I made a great effort not to sleep on the way. There is a stop in the middle of the route whose sole purpose is to sell you a photo they take of you during boarding. And there is still the bureaucracy to get on the train, you must arrive 40 minutes in advance, otherwise your seat purchased online will be sold to someone else and you will not be able to board if you arrive only at departure time.

You would do better to skip this train - This whole experience is overrated. Whoever said the seats were comfortable, must have been in a different train. Or not a full train. We were six adults squashed into a very small space, with our knees and shoulders pushed up against each other. The staff were not particularly helpful about the audio. There is supposed to be a channel for Spanish, one for English, etc. But the switches do not always work, to get the right channel. The scenery was OK, but it took a very long time to get the train loaded and then chugging slowly along the route. The “waterfall” was a small cascade of maybe 8-10 feet, smaller than some people have in their local park. I would skip this, and spend more time at viewpoint, and on the short walking trails in the national park.
