Very beautiful building . Tour was very informative . Only problem was a wedding was booked the same time as our tour, but our tour guide managed . Also the tour of the Monona Terrance Building Tour was almost at the same time and we had to cut that tour short to get to the Unitarian meeting house .

We have visited several FLW locations and while we didn’t particularly admire all of them, the public tour management and protocol were a high standard. We were first alerted what to expect when an email was sent giving a contact number in the event a guide hadn’t shown up by 10 minutes after we were due to start! We were there 15 mins prior to the start as requested but the dooors were locked, our guide arrived just at the strike of 2:30. He seemed unprepared and his presentation somewhat chaotic as he struggled to keep the many loose leaf laminated pages in order as they slid around unmanageably, almost right out of his hands. This was very distracting as we went around. I was actually surprised to learn our guide is a former diplomat because he wasn’t particularly eloquent in his presentation on that day. I don’t want to be unkind, he was a very nice man, but he’s not tour guide material. I don’t know if he’s a volunteer or a paid staff member, either way it wasn’t the experience we paid for nor have had in our past tours. If your tour guides are volunteers then perhaps the ticket pricing should reflect that. If they’re paid staff then you may want to reconsider the criteria for hiring.

We came on a day when someone had also scheduled a wedding so our tour kind of rambled backwards through the normal route. The docent sometimes seemed confused and had trouble opening several doors. When going outside I couldn't hear our guide because they faced the structure instead of the group. I've seen several FLW properties but this was my least informative. Considering we had to constantly work around the wedding party and the overall slipshoddiness of the tour I left disappointed. I don't feel this was a good value for the price paid.
