Monthly sessions are available with changing art themes. While the September workshop highlights Fan Painting, upcoming sessions will delve into various traditional Chinese art forms, including:

Calligraphy – Write your name or a lucky character using brush & ink
Opera Mask Painting – Design symbolic Peking Opera masks
Chinese Brush Painting – Learn to paint bamboo, koi, plum blossoms, and other classic symbols of Chinese art.

The Chicago Chinatown Visitor Center is delighted to offer an exclusive, interactive cultural art experience led by the esteemed artist and educator Liping Zhang. This month’s highlighted workshop centers on the traditional craft of Chinese fan painting, allowing participants to design their own hand-painted fan using traditional brush methods and culturally significant themes.

A minimum of four participants is necessary for this event. Should the minimum not be reached, the tour may be canceled, and a full refund will be provided.
