Great tour of port - ask for Capt Boo! - We had a fantastic port tour with Captain Boo. He was super friendly and well prepared - it was a cold windy day and he had blankets for us for our laps and on the way back gave us umbrellas to shield us from the wind. He was filled with fascinating commentary the whole time and took us right up close to some huge container ships that were there. We couldn't have asked for a better experience!!

Great Look at a Huge Port’s Operations - Fascinating look behind the scenes at the Port of Savannah. Captain Peter starts his narrative with some historical context of the area that’s filled with some really enthralling nuggets of Low Country’s past. Our tour then moved on the the present day operations of the Port of Savannah. This tour is a must for anyone fascinated by logistics and the global flow of commodities. It’s far from your typical tourist boat for sure!

Sailor Girl - I’m a sailor and prefer smaller boats, after viewing you tubes selected Outside Hilton Head, Peter Pearson was our guide and picked us up riverside in a small 6 person boat and he provided a well informed trip, it was one of best tours I’ve ever booked and would highly recommend. Unique Savannah Port Experience - Peter Pearson was knowledgeable and fun. Also very surprised how close and far down into the port we were able to get. Highly suggest!

Excellent tour of the Port of Savannah - Captain Peter was so knowledgeable and pleasant! The tour started early (when does that ever happen?) because everyone had arrived. He has years of experience and expertly guided the boat up the river, while explaining the port and how it works. It is a different view seeing Savannah and the port from the water. It was an excellent experience and we would highly recommend it. We will be doing it again when our out of town friends come to visit!

Very interesting Tour - This was an excellent tour. I would highly recommend it. You learn about the history of Savannah, the Savannah River, the Port and surrounding industry. Our Captain and Guide Peter Pearson was very knowledgeable. He was excellent at driving the boat and knowing the port. If you are curious about how goods are transported by ship, then this tour is for you,

Terrific tour with Captain John - It was a terrific tour, but the bad news first: We found the directions on the website inadequate. You have to go inside the ground floor lobby of the Westin to meet the tour. The website seems to imply that you find the tour in the parking lot. And if you're already in the Savannah historic district, the easiest way to get there is by the free DOT ferry that leaves from River Street and docks at the Westin. Everthing else was good news. We were 6 adults with a four-year-old. Captain John immediately produced an appropriately sized life vest for the child. The captain is a former tugboat captain and was extremely knowledgeable about every aspect of the port. He knew the ships, the factories, the procedures, the products, the history, and the wildlife preserve. He thoroughly answered every question. We were able to get closer to the ships and cranes than I had expected. I have taken port tours in other cities, and found this one to be the best. It was 90 minutes well-spent, and worth the $55 per person price. The boat is small, and open-air.
