• Palmer Visitor Information Center - Guests who choose to meet in Palmer will begin at the Palmer Visitor Center, where the day’s itinerary will be discussed.
• Sutton/Coal Hills - Next, the group will set off for the hiking destination. This excursion follows the Eska Falls trail, located just outside Palmer in Sutton, Alaska, within the Talkeetna Mountains. The hike covers approximately 11 miles, starting on old mining roads through boreal forest and ascending to alpine tundra. This hidden waterfalls journey is a round-trip adventure with an elevation gain of about 2,500 feet.

Throughout the hike, there will be stops to explore the local flora, fauna, the mining history of the Talkeetna Mountains, and the boreal forest.

At the turnaround point, there will be an extended break to enjoy the views of the surrounding mountains, weather permitting. The descent will follow the same trail back to the trailhead.

• Palmer Visitor Information Center - After the adventure, the group will return to the Palmer Visitor Center, where further recommendations for activities in the Palmer area will be provided.

This excursion follows the Eska Falls trail, a beautiful path in the Mat-Su Borough, located just east of Hatcher Pass.
