The adventure kicks off at the Placer Overflow parking area along the Seward Highway, where personal flotation devices are provided for the upriver journey. Be captivated by the breathtaking mountain, river, and glacier views as the river meanders through braided, rapid, and rocky sections.

Upon entering Spencer Lake, you’ll encounter enormous icebergs, which we’ll approach for an up-close experience. Glide by the glacier’s face to witness and hear Spencer Glacier as it drips, groans, and calves. The return journey is equally thrilling as the river’s speed propels us through its twists and turns.
