Great experience, amazing interactive guide - The castle was amazing- learning about the history of Jersey and the Elizabeth castle was awesome! The views from the castle of the island and surrounding waters were beautiful. The thing that made this exceptional was the re-enactment. Our Master Gunnery Sergeant was informative, hilarious, interactive, and overall made this experience one I will remember forever. Would highly recommend.

My King! Living history at perfection! - 'My King!' rings through my ears as I reflect on yesterday at Elizabeth Castle.... Charles II was in full swing as I climbed the steps through the archway having traversed the parade ground. The Duck amphibian craft journey across the water was excellent, but soon forgotten as I heard the cries of Charles II and joined the historical theatre which awaited me. Truly outstanding... there are not the words! If you haven't seen it, you've missed something huge... if you're planning and visit and the living history element is in town, you are going to have a real treat! The Gunner was also very good, especially if you're up for being drilled and marched from the parade square to the cannon any maybe even participate in the firing of said weapon out to sea. Just be ready to cover your ears! This was one of my 4for3 Jersey Heritage entrances, but if you're not purchasing that pass or have already used it, it's worth paying for Elizabeth Castle. Give yourself 4-5 hours for the full experience. The living history lasts for 3+ hours in total. Cafe and shop on site are good. Depending on the time of day, you can opt to walk over and back (if the tide is out, clearly!), but the Duck is great fun too! This activity is perfect for everyone - solo, couples, families... if you like history you'll love it! Enjoy!

Informative and interesting day out - A visit to Elizabeth Castle starts with a ride on the amphibious bus, which either drives or sails out to the castle, depending on the tide. I went across at high tide and enjoyed the brief voyage. On arrival, I joined the highly entertaining tour of the older parts of the castle led by King Charles 2ND himself . It's a fascinating insite into the history of the castle, jersey, and our monarchy . The king was a great actor , had the audience participation down to a fine art, and we all left smiling. Next, I joined the Sargent for some drill practice and watched the musket and cannon fire. Again, brilliant acting and historical knowledge brought another era of the castles history to life. I enjoyed a locally made pastie in the cafe , wandered around, taking in the rest of the castle and the views of the bay . There is at present renovation going on in parts, and I'm only sorry I won't be here to see the result. The walk back across the sand was lovely as the sun came out. Great day.

Jersey - Amazing Castles, Beaches, Lighthouses, Jerey cows, Hsitory, and more! - Elizabeth Castle was the one of the highlights of my Jersey trip. Mr. Harvey gave a superb performance. Witty, informative, and super passionate about Jersey history. Truly amazing. Learned so much about the history and ts importance in the world. The walk during low tide was incredibly beautiful as well as the ride on the amphibious vehicle on the way back during the high tide. If you love beaches, history (i.e., English, French, World War II, Nazi occupation, American), great food, delicious local beer and cider, cool pubs, Jersey cows, lighthouses, quaint villages, friendly people, and breathtaking views, then Jersey is a must see and do. PS - Always check the tide schedule. It changes rapidly and intensely.

Facts, smoke and boom! - A rather unexpected amazing day out with a 13 yr old girl and 15 yr old boy. The weather was naff but we ventured out to be greeted with a 12 Noon talk on life during the Spanish Armada. The tour guide was exceptional. In character, full of knowledge and great with the kids!!! Fired a Musket and a flipping CANNON. Brilliant afternoon out!

An experience worth having - My wife and I both climbed the steps of Mont Orgueil Castle to the top and took in the view which was fantastic, we also used the ferry to Elizabeth Castle. This was just a couple of the attractions we went to and in general the experience was well worth the cost of the 4 for 3 pass

A must do visit - Went out on the amphibious vehicle which was fun. The site is so much bigger than it appears from the main land. Interesting exhibits. Had the talk about the castle life and firing a musket and a cannon. The actor was brilliant so knowledgeable and engaging. Spent far longer on site than we expected.

Excellent buy - Research your choices and use bus where possible. Note: getting back after visiting the War Tunnels can involve some waiting at peak periods!
