Sunset cruise - Nungwi - Great experience, worth every penny. The owner was well organised, he contacted me the day before to confirm booking, time, pickup and snack preferences. Great communication. The host Mr Khateeb is a polite young man, great host and knowledgeable. Highly recommend. The cruise itself was satisfying, almost 3hrs long so there's plenty of time to enjoy it. They also have onboard entertainment in the form of drumming and singing

We took a traditional... - We took a traditional wooden Dow boat from the Nungwei beach. It was an incredible experience as we enjoyed live music, a sunset view and a relaxing journey along the west coast of the island. I would happily do it again.

Dhow Cruise! - Good views and great atmosphere! Favorite part was when we could jump off the roof of the boat in the water. Everything matched description.

Zanzy forever - It's already the second time we go, beautiful sea, peace, there is so much poverty but they are always smiling, the annoying beach boys but if you do not listen to them leave you in peace.Put in your suitcase everything you can bring to the children, sweaters shoes games and good holiday

Cosy - We set off under motor from MamaMia’s at Nungwi Beach. The crew were accommodating and had offered to pick us up at our accommodation which was a 20min walk further to the south on Kendwa beach. We waited about 20-30mins after the departure time, which for us was 1600, for a few more passengers to fill the boat before setting off with a total of between 40-50 persons onboard which made it a little too cosy for comfort. Live traditional music was played in sessions during the trip accompanied by fresh fruit, alcoholic beverages were offered at a cost. Once away from the beaches, the Dohw’s sail, which had a few holes, was hoisted and we sailed parallel with the coast for about 20 mins before turning back under sail affording views of the sunset from both sides and also, the skyline of the West coast of Zanzibar. The captain then offered a drop off at Kendwa beach which due to the size of the vessel, involved getting a little wet although the crew were helpful.

Too crowded. - The cruise was ok but the way they crammed beyond in was a joke. We were on the upper deck and other than the space my bum was occupying, there was not any room at all. When the sun started setting everyone was shuffling about swapping places to try and get a photo. The crew were singing and playing instruments which was enjoyable but due to the space, it was difficult to join in. Crew sold beer and soft drinks plus some ready made cocktails, some people took their own drinks. The boat stopped for people to jump in (aka go to the loo in the sea) then sailed back. It was fine, but just too crowded.

Not the experience I expected! - Accommodating to get additional passengers on board (ie small motors were continually joining us to drop off passengers for the cruise). We had between 40 and 50 on board and all cramped. The cruise itself was much less than 2hrs and we were back before sunset (though in fairness it was overcast). Refreshments consisted of pineapple and watermelon and some form of crisps.
