A truly rememberable trip! - We had an amazing day on this trip, we were picked up by boat on the beach of our hotel then taken to see the Dolphins, we had several opportunities to jump in and take pictures with them. When it got too busy the crew decided to leave so it wouldn't be too crowded for the Dolphins, we then went to do some snorkeling which was amazing, the guide jumped in with us with some food for the fish. We then went to the sand bank and had some fruit on the sand. We then went to the Turtle sanctuary to swim with them. It was really good having the Turtles swimming all around us and the guide took some awesome pictures of us. This was a great trip well organized and great staff, thank you for a truly rememberable day!

Amazing experience - We thoroughly enjoyed this experience. We got picked up early and dropped off at the Baraka Turtle Sanctuary. We were the only ones there, which we were confused about (it turned out the rest of the tour group went to Nungwi so it depends which one you’re closest to). This meant we had our own private experience and feeding the turtles was incredible. We then met the rest of the group on the boat. When we went to see the dolphins there was a lot of boats around and so we could not get close enough. But the tour guides took us back later on when there were no boats around and we were able to snorkel to see the dolphins. The tour guides were brilliant and they went above and beyond to ensure we had the full experience. Could not recommend this enough.

Amazing beautiful experience - Ali and Osman from Captain Barnaba boat tours. Thanks for making today so very special. We were warned that there was only 50/50 possibility of seeing dolphins and when we first joined the throng of other boats, there were none.and we vmwere doubtful, However, after snorkeling over a poorly looking reef albeit with a lot of reef fish,( loads of divers snorkels etc, they took us to a much more quiet area which was very quiet Within minutes the dolphins appeared. They were huge bottle nosed wild beautiful and free to swim in the ocean wherever they chose and we were honored that they chose to swim with us and our little group of 8. We then went to a quiet sandbar away from the crowded main one and enjoyed fresh delicious fruit and coconut and everyone on request of Ali, sang happy birthday to me!! Its my 60th and this was the Best day of our lives. The sight of a wild dolphin swimming alongside me will be indelibly printed on my brain. Thank you so much. 💓

Overall experience was... - Overall experience was amazing! Only downfall was that it seemed like the guides were not prepared for/aware of the aquarium bit of this booking and they had no plan for us in that regard. We had to get our own transport to the aquarium and had to arrange for someone to help us ourselves. Had we known, we would not have booked it as a package together but would have rather booked aquarium separately. Again, the experience was amazing but the little details that count too!

Enjoyable turtles and dolphins; unimpressive snorkelling - The day started with a visit to the Baraka Natural Aquarium, just the guide Ludvig and myself. It was early and quiet, only a couple of other people there. Seeing the green turtles up so close and feeding them was a great experience. They were beautiful and looked very healthy. I'm not sure about the ethics of their being in the aquarium, although I was told there is an annual release of turtles back into the sea. It would have been nice to learn something about the turtles though. No information was forthcoming and when I asked what species of turtle they were, Ludvig had to ask someone else. We then joined a boat, 5 people in all for the snorkelling and dolphin watching. The snorkelling was unimpressive. Yes, there were some fish but all the coral is dead and I counted 40+ boats in the same small area, with 100s of people in the water. Just finding the right boat again when done wasn't easy. We hung out on a sand bar for a while, had some water and fruit. The swimming with dolphins is more a question of finding and following dolphins, then jumping in and out of the boat trying to get close whilst avoiding other people and boats. We did two lots of dolphin viewing/swimming. The 2nd time there were alot less other boats and people around. We did see lots of dolphins up pretty close, those with a waterproof camera got the better videos/photos. It was fun but a bit frenetic. Not a chilled wildlife experience.

Safe snorkeling! - Overall a good trip despite less than spectacular weather. The two guys who ran the boat and snorkeling made us feel safe the entire time. The boat was clean and had proper life vests and gear. Personally I would not recommend Baraka Natural Aquarium. Well the turtles looked to be in healthy condition, both my husband and i got bit. (My finger and his calf). I personally didn't feel comfortable going in the water even tho we were the first ones on site at opening and no one else was there. People started showing up and were getting louder and disruptive in the water. I guess i misunderstood but you DO NOT go to the actual island of Mnemba. Its privately owned. You go to the sandbar which we were unable to do to tides and weather.
