Meet Your Guide and Head to the Resort

The State Department Store - Arrive at the State Department Store at 10:00 AM to meet your local guide/driver who will accompany you throughout the journey. Then, head to the resort in the Terelj National Park area.

Gorkhi-Terelj National Park - At 12:00 PM, arrive at a nomadic family’s home, check into your ger, and begin your adventure with a traditional lunch featuring Mongolian specialties like buuz (steamed dumplings) or tsuivan.

Gorkhi-Terelj National Park - Horse Riding 1:00-3:00 PM. Set off on an exciting horse riding journey through the beautiful Mongolian countryside. Discover the rolling hills, meadows, and forests while enjoying the fresh air and breathtaking views.

Gorkhi-Terelj National Park - Afternoon 5:00-6:00 PM: Continue horse riding and soak in the surrounding natural beauty. You will also have the opportunity to ride a yak and take pictures with yaks. Additionally, you can capture moments while wearing traditional clothing.

Immerse yourself in the traditional Mongolian lifestyle by visiting a nomadic family. Learn about their customs, traditions, and daily routines.

Gorkhi-Terelj National Park - Evening: Enjoy a traditional Mongolian dinner prepared by the family’s husband. Savor dishes like khorkhog (meat cooked with hot stones) or boodog, and engage in conversation with the family.

Relish the peaceful serenity of the Mongolian countryside under a starlit sky before retiring for the night in a cozy ger.

Gorkhi Terelj National Park - Sky Watching in the Evening. If the sky is clear, you can enjoy a beautiful star-filled sky.

Spend the 2nd Day at the Resort and Return to Ulaanbaatar

Gorkhi-Terelj National Park - Morning: Wake up to the tranquility of the surroundings, go for a hike, and enjoy a hearty breakfast including bread, salad, traditional pastries, and dairy products like fresh milk, yogurt, and cheese.

Hiking from 8:00-9:30 AM. Embark on a scenic hike to further explore the breathtaking landscapes and enjoy panoramic views of the rolling hills and vast open spaces.

The State Department Store - At 11:00 AM-12:00 PM. Bid farewell to the resort and return to Ulaanbaatar. You will be dropped off at the State Department Store or your hostel/hotel.

Our nomadic family resides in the Terelj National Park area.

Experience the wild beauty of Mongolia’s countryside and witness a day in the life of a traditional yak herder family. This engaging 1-day, 1-night journey combines adventure with culture, providing a unique chance to ride magnificent horses and robust yaks across the expansive steppe.

The adventure begins with a picturesque horse ride through the vast grasslands, where the air is fresh and the landscape seems endless. Additionally, participants will have the opportunity to ride a yak and take photos with them.

Upon arriving at a herder family’s ger (yurt), guests are greeted with warm hospitality and local dairy treats. Spend the day learning about customs, engaging in daily activities such as herding, and milking cows.

As night falls, enjoy a home-cooked meal and sleep under the expansive starry sky inside a cozy ger, warmed by a yak dung stove — an experience as genuine as it gets.
