Excellent service. Will book from them another trip. - The overall experience was smooth and comfortable. The weather happened to be beautiful which made the experience 200% better. The service was nothing short of what I wanted. The guide was a friendly man who had great knowledge of Mongolian history. I felt like I saw both the capital city and the nature of Mongolia in a short amount of time.

Very comfortable tour, felt like a regular Mongolian friend travel to the places and back. 100% recommend their service. - I didn't have high expectations, had half a day to see the great statue of Genghis Khan. The guide was a well spoken young man who was waiting for me at the lobby. We had a nice conversation on the way, where he would nicely ask whether I wanted to take photos on certain spots on the way. Didn't seem to mind that this prolonged the trip, which I greatly appreciated. Loved the entire experience and the money I paid was worthwhile.

Definitely worth the visit! - Visiting the giant Genghis Khan statue was an amazing experience! I've always been fascinated by Mongolia's rich history and culture, so seeing the statue in person was a dream come true. After doing some research, I chose a tour based on the reviews, and it definitely lived up to the hype. No complaints at all!

Comforting trip in a wildish experience. - The guide was surprisingly charming and friendly. It was our first day so didn't see much prior. He gave vast information about the country, the capital city and its people. Felt the need to go to the country side next time. The statue was huge and intimidating almost. The food was decent, interesting experience from a local small restaurant. I recommend this trip for the experience and the friendly service

Excellent Tour - This was a great over view tour. The guide was great and the driver was very professional. They even tailored the tour for my last minute changes. Edwina R from Washington DC.

Fantastic Day Tour with great guide - We did a day tour yesterday and it was fantastic! We visited Terelj National Park, turtle rock, a monastery with chanting monks, went to a great lookout over the city, the Ghengus Khan Statue and museum and has a tasty lunch with a nomadic family in their ger, complete with an ox drawn carriage ride across the snow. It was a really cold day and snowing in the morning, but the minivan was warm inside and the driver was very good and safe. Our guide was very friendly, knowledgeable and had perfect english. Everything went to plan and our 12 and 14 year old children really enjoyed the day as much as we did! We would highly recommend this day tour.

Day tour on a cold winter day - The Rara Avis team picked us up from our hotel and we started our day tour with temps at -27c. Bitterly cold. we visited the Gandantegchinlen Monastery and looked in on the young Buddhists who were going through their morning recitals. Then we departed for the Chinngis Khan memorial. Stunning views with the cold temps bringing very clear skies. From there we left for the Gorkhi-Tereij park. We stopped for lunch in a local Ger. Our host meet us with a cart drawn by an ox and took us to his Ger, crossing over the frozen river on the way. Lunch was excellent and eating in a distinctly local environment was a pleasure. Our driver leant my son his heavy coat to go over the one he already had on as the temperatures continued to fall. From there we took a drive through the park and visited the Turtle rock. Then back to the city where our guide took us to a couple of shops that we'd asked for. The team then dropped us off at our hotel. All in all an excellent day. The Rara Avis team were excellent, our guide had very good English and gave us a running commentary on the history of Mongolia. I'd fully recommend this trip to anyone. Families would especially benefit from taking a tour with Rara.

Tour was worth it for both Cultural reasons and logistical reasons - The tour was very good for the reasons you would expect: Transportation to important and interesting sites The guide provide interesting additional information of the area The "normal day" lunch in a Ger (Yurt) was fun and the food good. You guide can help you with simple things (that maybe are so simple like buying a hand made hat at a roadside stop and then finding an ATM that will accept your card. Other helpful shopping hints (Cashmere is VERY affordable in Mongolia) But the most important reason for the tour is a plus/minus thing: Unfortunately, the traffic in Ulaanbaatar is, simply put, terrible. Almost unbearable traffic jams and difficult driving. The plus is having a skilled local driver is a big BIG plus to the tour.

Tour guide did not show up. - We had one day to spend in UB so we booked this trip thinking it will cover everything but TOUR GUIDE DID NOT SHOW UP. I messaged them 20 days prior to the trip but did not get any response but I thought they will show up during the day of tour. Their phone number does not exist either. No means to contact them whatsoever. We were stranded with no plan. Worse experience! Don’t book, looks like they are scam.
