Nice, off the beaten track tours - We did two tours with Daiki, the tea fields tour (extended) and the ninja tour. Both were very well organized, the vehicle is comfortable and Daiki offers the possibility to adapt the program to your specific interests. The places visited are off the beaten track, with not many other tourists, which is great. Daiki also gave us nice food recommendations. On the tea tour you visit a tea store/cafeteria and some photo spots in the fields, but you don’t really walk around in the tea fields for long of visit a factory. The scenery is very nice though. Recommended!

Fantastic and very uniqie experience. - The tour was amazing! Daiki is knowledgeable, fun, and full of happy energy. He taught us a lot about tea, Japanese culture, and history. During the ride, we saw picturistic Japan, which better represents the country than what metropolitan cities usually show tourists. We bought pure grade teas and Matcha from local farmers. The pictures we took were fantastic!

Gorgeous Scenery, Wonderful Guide - Our trip with Daiki to see the Uji green tea fields was a top highlight of our three weeks in Japan. We saw beautiful green terraced tea plantations, Ujigami (the oldest shrine in Japan) and enjoyed a delicious matcha dessert at a rustic Wazuka cafe. Daiki kindly took us to see the Genji Museum (at my request), if you like Japanese literature/history this a fantastic exoerience. His minivan is clean and comfy. Best of all, Daiki is friendly, easygoing, knowledgeable and so easy to talk to. We plan to book more tours with Daiki and you should too!

Worth every penny - Our tour guide took us to the town where the farmers produced the best quality matcha and was able to buy local products from the farmers cooperative which help support the farming community. Even had a meal. Our guide was also very knowledgeable and ready to answer questions about Japanese culture. Highly recommended!

Varied and unique experiences in lovely countryside - We did 3 different things on this private tour with Daiki, a fluent English speaker. First we caught magical weeping plum trees in peak blossom at Jonangu Temple. This was recommended by a local and we were one of few tourists there. The fragrance was amazing! Its off the beaten path so glad we had Daiki driving. Next we went to Uzi, which is like the Napa Valley for tea. Learned a lot and sampled different types of tea. The scenery was lovely. Finally we ended up at Byudoin Temple and Musuem. Lots of history and we learned a lot about Shintoism and Buddhism. Definitely recommend!

Beautiful green tea fields - The green tea fields in Ugi were simply breathtaking. It was a trip off the beaten track and Daiki Fukaishi was an amazing guide. He thoughts are unconventional and makes an interesting conversationalist.

Consider alternative tours - We booked 2 tours with Daiki - the tea fields and the Osaka / Nara tour. The 2 tours were vastly different experiences (Osaka and Nara tour being very positive). The tea fields tour however fell short of expectation. There was minimal interaction with the tea fields (a photo opportunity in the tea fields however nil farm / visit to tea fields occurred). We also paid for the extended tour to allow for some time visiting sites in Kyoto. Daiki didn’t suggest sites initially so instead we proposed a few options including bamboo grove. We were instead taken to one location with bamboo (smallish bamboo and not bamboo grove) located 5 mins drive from our hotel. Also we only occupied about 30mins of the 2 hour extended booking. We were travelling with my elderly mother so missing out on the sites meant we didn’t have the opportunity to visit as we were relying on the extended tour to provide access to 1-2 Kyoto sites. I contacted Daiki to provide feedback and didn’t get a response which is why I’m sharing feedback on trip advisor.
