- City Palace of Udaipur - This magnificent complex features a blend of Rajasthani, Mughal, Medieval, European, and Chinese architecture, comprising small and large palaces, museums, and gardens. It stands as one of Rajasthan’s most stunning palatial structures. Originally constructed by Maharana Uday Singh II, the palace rises 30 meters above Lake Pichola and stretches 244 meters. Built entirely of granite and marble, the interior showcases exquisite mirror work, marble work, murals, wall paintings, silver work, inlay work, and colored glass mosaics. The upper terraces offer breathtaking views of the lake and city. Visitors can explore various gateways and attractions such as Amar Vilas, Badi Mahal, Chini Chitrashala, Choti Chitrashali, Dilkhusha Mahal, Durbar Hall, Fateprakash Palace, Jagdish Mandir, Krishna Vilas, Laxmi Vilas Chowk, Manak Mahal, Mor Chowk, Rang Bhawan, Sheesh Mahal, and a museum.
- Jagdish Temple - The next stop is the Jagdish Temple, located 150 meters north of the City Palace. This temple, built in the Indo-Aryan architectural style, is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. It is a prominent landmark visible from almost anywhere in the old city center. The temple’s walls and shikara, or tower, are adorned with carvings of Vishnu, scenes from Lord Krishna’s life, and figurines of nymphs or apsaras. The street square at the base of the temple steps, known as Jagdish Chowk, serves as a hub from which several roads diverge.
- Lake Pichola - Enjoy a boat ride on Lake Pichola, an artificial freshwater lake created in 1362 AD, named after the nearby Picholi village. Over the centuries, the lake’s surroundings and islands have been developed with palaces, marble temples, family mansions, and bathing ghats. The renowned Lake Palace, now a heritage hotel, is situated in the middle of the lake. Two islands, Jag Niwas and Jag Mandir, are located within Lake Pichola.
- Vintage Collection of Classic Cars Museum - Take a brief visit to the Vintage and Classic Car Museum, which houses some of the rarest classic and vintage cars.
- Fateh Sagar Lake - Constructed by Maharana in 1678, this artificial lake lies north of Lake Pichola and northwest of Udaipur. Fateh Sagar Lake contains three small islands, the largest being Nehru Park. The second island features a public park with a striking water-jet fountain, while the third hosts the Udaipur Solar Observatory.
- Sahelion Ki Bari - Built by Maharana Bhopal Singh, Sahelion Ki Bari, meaning Garden of the Maids, is located in the northern part of the city. It features fountains, kiosks, a lotus pool, and marble elephants. Each water channel produces a unique sound, enhancing the garden’s ambiance. A small museum is also present. Sahelion Ki Bari was created for 48 young women attendants who accompanied a princess to Udaipur as part of her dowry.
- Sajjangarh Monsoon Palace - The Monsoon Palace, a former royal residence of the Mewar dynasty, was constructed in 1884 by Maharana Sajjan Singh. Initially intended as a nine-story astronomical observatory to monitor monsoon clouds, its strategic location on Bansdara Peak of the Aravalli hills offers a panoramic view, earning it the name Monsoon Palace.
- Bharatiya Lok Kala Mandal - The Bharatiya Lok Kala Mandal is a renowned museum in Udaipur, showcasing an impressive collection of Rajasthan’s folk artifacts. This unique assortment includes traditional rural attire, ornaments, puppets, masks, dolls, folk musical instruments, folk deities, and paintings.
