Authentic experience - My daughter and I enjoyed this cooking class a lot. It was a very authentic experience that we highly recommend to do if you are in Ubud. Putu not only taught us how to cook delicious food, but also about her home temples, garden and culture. All the ingredients used were fresh from the garden an the cooking methods traditional. A must do!

We were a family of 9... - We were a family of 9 aged 6-80 and had a fantastic experience with Putu and her family. We all learnt a lot about Balinese life and cooked some of the most delicious food we have had in Bali. Putu took care to make sure everyone was involved in the cooking and the children were really engaged through the whole process. We would absolutely recommend this to anyone visiting Ubud and wanting to see Bali outside of the main tourist areas.

Amazing cooking class with Putu - It was an amazing experience! First, Putu showed us her house, which had a nice temple and a really big garden. She had everything we needed to cook with in her garden. They also own rice fields and chickens. So everything we cooked was really fresh and tasted so good! She taught us how to cook Balinese cuisine, preparing five different meals. We also received a welcome coconut, traditional Balinese fruit and crackers. The class lasts about two hours, but it could be longer because it is such a nice experience. She spoke English really well and answered all of our questions. Try it out — it's really nice!

Raving review of Putu’s cooking class! - My wife and I did this class with Putu and we could be happier with the class. We were picked up from our hotel and brought to Putu’s beautiful home where we were given a tour of their different temples and their garden. Putu was a great host and guided us through cooking various Balinese foods, which all were fantastic! I couldn’t pick my favorite because they all were wonderful. We will definitely try to make these recipes again when we get home. If we could give this 6 stars, we would! Highly recommend anyone to do this!!!

Absolutely amazing! - What an amazing experience! Putu was such a great teacher and we learned how to make a lot of lovely food. This is a MUST DO if you are in Bali. Honestly it was the best food we had on our entire trip! It was also great to have local alcohol and we got to take some of the food home with us in a doggy bag! Thank you so much to Putu and her family! We will definitely do this class again next time we are in Bali

Beautiful and delicious experience - My favourite experience in Bali so far. Putu was very hospitable and taught me so much - about the ingredients, flavours, Balinese family life, farming and language. The farm is in a beautiful spot, with a gorgeous vegetable garden. The kitchen is outside and spacious. It was all delicious and I've never been so full. Thank you so much! Suksma!

Essential Bali experience, an Ubud highlight - We couldn't recommend this experience highly enough! My wife and I were picked up at our hotel by Putu and her lovely husband who drove us to their home in a small village about 30 minutes from Ubud, away from the traffic and noise in the beautiful countryside. We instantly felt the warmth of Putu's personality and felt so welcomed and relaxed. When we arrived at their home, Putu gave us a tour of her home, including their private family temple, and showed us around their gorgeous garden where they grow a lot of their food. We learned a lot about village life and Balinese culture - she was so knowledgeable and easy to talk to. We were given a welcome drink of a fresh young coconut and delicious fruit all from her garden. The kitchen is outdoors but covered with a roof in case of rain and everything was spotlessly clean and well equipped. Once the cooking started we had such fun!! Putu talked us through the staple ingredients in Indonesian cooking and then, for each part, we got our raw ingredients and were given instructions on how to slice, dice, crush and mix everything before cooking each dish ourselves, but with Putu there at all times to instruct and guide us. Each dish was tailored to us to have the right amount of spice - I am Irish and my wife is from California, so we definitely weren't able for the amount of chilli a Balinese person would normally use!! The whole process was full of conversation and laughs, we were smililg the entire time as Putu shared her knowledge and skill with us. We ended up with a feast of 5 parts that we couldn't get close to finishing, so Putu gave us containers to take the rest home which we devoured the next day. She sends you the recipes after your done so you can try and recreate a bit of Bali when you get home. We did multiple day trips and experiences during our time in Ubud, but both of us thought this was the highlight of our time there and would suggest it as a must do while you are in Ubud.
