Transit was rough, but the cenote cave was unforgettable and amazing! - We were picked up at the big grocery store in town. We were early and grabbed a cold drink at the cafe next to the office. The actual pickup was late and not well organized. We arrived at the main camp where all the various adventure tours launch (this is primarily an ATV and zipline place). Because we were just doing the horse ride and cenote, we kept getting shuffled around and no-one quite knew what to do with us. After a long wait, we got a nice ride on some gentle (and tired!) horses along the dirt roads. This is not really a "jungle" ride, but it was nice nonetheless. When we got to the cenote, we felt kind of abandoned again. The place is really set up for groups of 10-20 people doing the ATVs. So we waited a long time. I was afraid that the cenote was going to be disappointing. The path down is very rickety and leads to a rather unimposing entrance. The water was a bit cold and there wasn't much room to swim (so I thought).... And then, the guide had us swim deep into the cave! He pointed out bats and blind frogs and limestone formations. We ended up a few passages deep and saw some old coral formations from when Yucatan was undersea. There is an amazing shaft of light where some tree roots poked through the cave ceiling. It was a transformative experience. We ate a very late lunch (pickup was at 12:30, lunch was at almost 4). It was simple, but tasted amazing (cooked in an open kitchen next to the tables). When it was time to go home, we had another long wait as the vans were filled with people with higher priority. Then the van we were supposed to take was locked and no-one had a key. Finally, we made the trip back to Tulum. With the bungled transport, long waits, and feeling abandoned again and again, I just couldn't give this trip 5 stars. HOWEVER, the cave swim was absolutely magical. It was the highlight of our trip to Tulum. My wife could not stop talking about how great it was.

Stay far away - If you want to have your items stolen, eat a disgusting lunch, and ride horses that are on death's door, this tour is for you!
