Gracias Zabala !!!! ENGLISH: My family and I had an amazing time on the tour with Zabala as our tour guide. You can tell that he was very passionate about the Mayan culture and really made an effort to share his knowledge with us throughout the entire day. We come from the United States and speak both English and Spanish so I can verify that he does a great job translating to both. If you take this tour, please be open to really listening and giving him your attention. There's a lot of learning that goes on in this tour and the group we went with seemed very uninterested and bored, was sad to see when the tour guide was very passionate and truly wanted us to learn and enjoy the day. Please come show up with energy and a listening ear, if you pay for the tour, then enjoy it! I learned so much from this tour and we got to see such beautiful places.

Tourist trap - The 5 in 1 handset: Departure from Cancun after picking up all the tourists from the different hotels which took at least 1 hour TULUM: OK Coba: to respect the (tight) schedule, the guide tells us that we have 1 hour to cover the 2 km out and the 2 km back to see the different archaeological sites. With children, it is complicated or even impossible to cover this distance in such a short time and still take time to enjoy the place. You must therefore have money to rent bikes or pay for the services of a touk touk (very nice to do) The cenote: arrival around 4 p.m. for the meal. The meal is good and the place is pleasant. The same goes for drinks, you have to pay for them on site. A Shaman's ceremony held in the middle of a souvenir shop... hard to believe it and the highlight of the show is the cenote: very pretty, under the open sky. And there, a big disappointment, we were told that the cenote is not included in the price of the excursion. You have to pay 50 pesos per person to access it. The price is certainly not exorbitant but once again it was supposed to be understood and not at all. And finally we arrive in Playa del Carmen at 7:30 p.m. and there are only 45 minutes left to walk around. In summary, the price is attractive (around €350 for 2 adults and 2 children) but if you want to enjoy each place, take your time and wander around, definitely don't choose this excursion. And of course make sure everything is included.

Very disorganized - We wasted the whole morning waiting for people to arrive at the bus, in Playa del Carmen we waited 40, we left at 7:15 and at 11:00 we still hadn't started the tour, the place was very nice, but we prefer another agency that leaves Cancum very early now If it doesn't last forever, we return at 11:30 at night.

Bad experience - It wasn't nice, it was supposed to be all-inclusive and at each stop they took more money from you, they gave us 20 minutes per stop to travel, the entire tour was in a rush. the truth is very bad

Beware if English speaker - I booked an English speaking tour and ended up on a tour bus of 14 people with 13 of them being Spanish speakers = Spanish speaking tour. The tour guide would say some things in English, but there would be paragraphs in Spanish and the odd English word or sentence thrown in. I had no idea what was going on, apart from the <5mins he explained some of the Tulum information at the site, I got nothing else. I would have never picked this tour if I had known it wasn't an English speaking tour. Its quite obvious having 1 person speaking a different language that they won't get the same information/experience as everyone else! I emailed the tour company with my disappointment of the tour, they have not responded! I've waited 2weeks before writing this review, to give time for a response If you're an English speaker, don't waste your money, do it DIY it will be cheaper and you'll get the same experience. Apart from entry fees and transport fees, I would expect a refund as I didn't get anything else I paid for... i would recommend Sat Mexico tours, I got what I paid for with this company, learned more about Mayan culture in 10mins on the bus than I did for the whole of this tour.

Hell without information - A disaster of a tour. The driver, who is not a guide, named Iván did not bother to inform us of anything more than the 4 facts in the information brochures. Their job was to control the time at each stop and scare us that if we weren't there at the agreed time the bus would leave and leave us abandoned to our fate. No explanation of Cobá, or the rest of the activities. It's a shame that I worked for an agency like this in Mexico because the only thing it achieves is to discourage tourism. I don't even talk about the buffet because it was embarrassing to see the 4 dishes they offered and on top of that they put 3 or 4 buses together at the same time. In the end almost 1 hour to wait to eat and we couldn't see the cenote due to the time. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Terrible lunch, uncaring guide and trapped on a bus for hours . - I Will start with what was good. The bus was air conditioned, and that’s it. We came from isla mujeres to do the trip. Up early to catch the 7 am ferry. Picked up late on a shuttle and shuffled onto a bus. We had not had time for coffee or food yet and I asked the guide if I had time to get coffee. He said no time, I then watched him walk into the coffee shop to get himself a coffee from the bus. We stopped for a half hour after a 2 hour drive, but there was no explanation for the stop and no one got off bus. We finally got to where luck wound be served at off the bus at 1:30 pm. That’s a lot of time without food. Also the toilet on the bus is only for number 1. That’s right, you are SOL if you need to S. Remember to take your Imodium before getting on the bus 😳. The authentic Mexican cuisine lunch included mashed potatoes that came from a box and spaghetti. We were instructed to not bring refreshments… Well that’s because we have to buy water, soda or beer. It’s an easy sale to a captive audience on a bus. I promised a guide who spoke English. Very few words were spoken in English except to sell us the drink package, and when to get back on the bus. I was particularly disappointed to see the guide vanish once we were in Tulum. We had zero commentaries or information on this archeological sight. What a lost opportunity. I left an anorak jacket on the bus and it was stolen while we were in Tulum. The really really bad part was when we were finally dropped off to get the ferry back the tour guide said it was better for them to drop us off 200 metres away from the ferry. We had 5 minutes to catch the 9 o’clock. It’s a good thing we are runners. Thanks Juan 😤 Don’t waste your money .

They never showed up for our pick-up - Through Marriott Bonvoy Activities, we booked the Archaeological Tour in Tulum and Muyil with Cenote Wayak, and a pick-up at the JW Marriott Hotel in Cancun at 7 am on Dec 27. It’s organized by Mayab Travel Tours. We confirmed the tour the day before (on Dec 26) through the JW Marriott concierge who called Mayab Travel Tours and they confirmed that the pick-up would be at 7 am at the JW Marriott. We were ready at the JW Marriott at 7 am. After waiting 30 min, the concierge tried contacting the tour company and eventually was able to get through after about 30 min, so we were waiting an hour by now. He found out that they did not schedule the pick-up at the JW Marriott, which is strange since we confirmed the day before. So, after waiting for over an hour by now, they told the concierge that because they did not schedule our pick-up we had to leave the hotel and walk to a restaurant off property for a pick which may arrive in 15 min (no guarantee of that). And, we had no guarantee that our family could sit together on the 2-hr bus journey or that they even had us registered for the tour (and what the consequences would be for that). The entire experience was ruined and our family decided the best thing to do was to cancel the tour. This company does not reflect well on Marriott (since it was book through them). I still have yet to receive an apology from anyone.
