Highlights
  • Chunyaxche - Are you ready to discover one of the best-kept secrets of this beautiful destination? Join us on an unforgettable adventure as we journey through the stunning Sian Ka’an Reserve, following the same route that the ancient Mayans used thousands of years ago to connect the Caribbean Sea with the Muyil community.

As we navigate our way through the reserve, we’ll encounter three main lagoons - Muyil, Chunyaxche, and Capelchen - all connected by a network of water channels.

And that’s not all - in the heart of the reserve, surrounded by canals and lagoons, lies the Mayan temple of Ixlapak. This temple was used by the Mayans as an astral observatory.

But the real magic of this experience comes from the opportunity to relax and connect with nature. Imagine floating through the fresh water channels, feeling the cool water caressing your skin and the warm sun on your face. It’s a moment of pure bliss, a chance to let go of all your worries and simply be in the moment.

This beats the Eiffel Tower and NYC.... GO HERE! - Probably the most fun ever! A must. Sounds like a corny experience, but it will be THE thing you remember the best when you go back to whence you came. It won't be around in 20 years as the population grows, so trust me on this one, do it!

Very worthwhile - will definitely do this again. The float was glorious. - This was amazing. The guide, Mamo, was the best ever. We were a little confused on what to bring/ when we would change. You should wear a swim suit under your clothes, because you first will boat and do the float. You then will be given your shoes back (consider tennis shoes) and you will walk through the savannah on a bridge back to the boat. You can then change (behind the ruins) or just put your clothes over your suit, and then you do an hour long walk through the jungle. Then you sit to eat - this may have been my favorite meal in Mexico. So delicious. Very worthwhile - will definitely do this again. The float was glorious.
