Additional Information

Experience the diverse highlights of the Tulum region on our private tour. Starting off with the magnificent Tulum Ruins, the journey continues to the stunning offshore reef or some of the gorgeous cenotes available in the vicinity. Cenotes, the spectacularly clear ponds or subterranean waters bodies, owe their existence to the extensive subterranean river channels permeating much of the Yucatán Peninsula. The water’s purity is ensured by the filtering effect of the limestone peninsula. The experience of touring with us is akin to spending the day with a friend, rather than being ushered around by a typical guide! The tour also comprises a mouthwatering local lunch.
*Kindly note that cenotes Dos Ojos and Sac Actun are not part of the tour. Connect with us for more information.

Amazing Adventure - We recently went on this amazing tour with Eli. First, I can’t say enough about how friendly Eli is & we were so comfortable with him. His knowledge of Mayan history is amazing. He brings the Mayan world alive throughout the tour. The ruins are so fascinating when you tour with a guide who truly loves the history of his country & presents it to you in a way you can almost visualize. When we left the ruins we went to a cenote that was beautiful! The water is crystal clear & the history of the cenotes is fascinating. Eli took us to a local restaurant where the food was fantastic. We always tour with Yucatán Eli’s and have never been disappointed. Eli is truly a great guy & guide.

Experience of a life time - My tour guide was Nelson, he is very knowledgeable and passionate about his job and the history of the Mayan Ruins and Cenotes. I can’t swim however Nelson created a method using life jackets to help me float through the Cenotes, I felt safe and secure. I would definitely recommend doing this tour.

Still in love in and with Tulum! - Wow! What a PHENOMENAL day! We have traveled many places in the world over the past 40 years and this was easily one of the BEST tours we have ever done! Eli was WONDERFUL! He did a masterful job of showing us the Tulum ruins. The Sac Actun Cenote visit was an adventure of a lifetime! You must do while in Tulum! Eli led us through many fascinating sites on this underground river! My wife and I were in Tulum 38 years ago and thanks to Eli, our trip back was unforgettable!

Highly recommend! - We booked Eli for a private tour and he was extremely knowledgeable about what my wife and I wanted. We wanted to support the local business owners and he suggested that we visit them first before we went downtown Tulum. Once we concluded our shopping with several vendors, we went downtown and he made sure to point out things along way! Once we hit downtown, my wife and I were so engrossed into the culture we lost track of eli but he never lost track of us. He hung back far enough to provide us with a sense of privacy but never far enough to where he wasn't right there when we needed him. After the tour, we ate at a local spot and the food was absolutely delicious! I highly recommend Eli for your tour as we will be booking him during our next trip!

The BEST PART of my vacation! - Yucatán Eli's tours are PERFECT!! I was a part of one of their Tulum Adventure tours last year, when I was in Tulum for a family member's wedding, and it was definitely a highlight of my trip. We went to a variety of cenotes, ate a fantastic lunch, and saw the amazing ruins of Tulum. So, because of the wonder and amazement of my experience in 2018, I thought that it would be great to get another tour from them this year, when I went again with some friends. When I saw that all the dates for the tour I did last time were unavailable, I emailed them and politely asked if they could accommodate us, and they certainly did! They responded quickly and politely, telling us that they would unblock their usually reserved Sunday for our group, and it was the best experience ever! The best part of it was that, even though we signed up for the one I did the previous year, the activities and places were completely different, so you know that they personalize them. They picked us up in a lovely air-conditioned van at exactly the time they said they would, even though the house we were staying at was hard to find, and took us directly to the ruins. Because we got there early in the morning, it wasn't very crowded or hot. Last time, the service hired one of the tour guides that work at the ruins, but this time, Eli gave us a personal tour, which was one of my favorite moments of the entire day! His passion for history for the city shined through as he gave us a detailed and exciting history of Tulum and its ruins, explaining the purposes of buildings, the reasonings for settlement, and the impact that Tulum had on the Yucatán. From there, we were driven to an amazing lagoon (different from the first time), where we snorkeled among tropical fish in clear, warm water. Then, we went to a great lunch in town, and finished with the most beautiful cenote that I have ever seen. It was one that was mainly known by the locals, with fewer tourists, less noise, and more of a calm vibe. The snorkeling there was insanely good, and Eli even took me around to show me his favorite parts of it. We hung out there for as long as we wanted, then we ended the day with some beers in the can back to our house. All in all, Eli's passion and true love for what he does is incredibly apparent, and it makes the tour so special. I 100% recommend Yucatán Eli's tours, if you don't go on one, you certainly are missing out.

One of the most amazing travel experiences of my life! - I found Yucutan Eli's Tours on Yelp and based on the reviews I decided to get in touch. They responded within an hour and not only answered all of my questions, but welcomed any additional questions. From the first exchange I felt confident that I wanted to go on their Adventure tour which would include snorkeling with the turtles, visiting a local Mayan Village, a local lunch, entering the jungle to look for MONKEYS!!!! and a swim in a cenote. The day before the trip Yucutan Eli's Tours reached out to me to confirm everything and ask me if I have any last minute requests, questions or needs and to let me know that Eli would arrive promptly at 7:30am the next morning with fresh coffee and anything else we need to be comfortable. Eli was indeed outside his car and waiting at 7:30am with a smile and warm greeting. It may have only taken a couple minutes to feel like we were just cruising along with a friend we hadn't seen in awhile! Our first stop was to see MONKEYS!!! A Mayan guide deftly lead us around while making various monkey calls. Along the way Eli educated us on various trees, plants, birds.. whatever we saw and didn't see. Not before long we see a Spider Monkey and her baby, and then shortly after a Howler Monkey! The guide called out to the Howler who responded- you wouldn't believe the booming sounds coming from a relatively small animal! We continued to explore the jungle in hopes of seeing more monkeys, but alas... its the jungle, not a zoo and we knew how lucky we were to see the 3 we did! If I went into detail on all the amazing things we saw and did, you would be here reading all day. The day was perfect and leisurely, action-packed, yet relaxed. Eli made sure we were comfortable, happy, entertained and educated! At the end of the tour we were supposed to go snorkel with turtles, but mother nature had other plans and turned the waters into a sand globe which would have made seeing anything under water impossible. Eli asked us if we wanted to try anyway, but also offered an alternative which we decided to take. Instead we went to a nearby lagoon to snorkel and saw many fish and birds! Eli was with us every step of the way, but also gave us enough space to lets us enjoy the excursion as a couple. We will never forget this experience and are so grateful to have had Eli as our guide. I 100% recommend using Yucutan Eli's Tours, we certainly we be on our next trip to Tulum!
