ITINERARY FOR THE WEEKEND OF FEBRUARY 15 - FEBRUARY 16, 2025

Dive into Tulum’s Cultural Wonders: A Weekend of Mayan Mysteries and Natural Beauty

Experience the thrill of Tulum’s cultural wonders this weekend with perfect weather for exploring ancient ruins and swimming with sea turtles. Dive into the heart of Mayan history and natural beauty, where adventure awaits at every turn.

Unveiling the Mysteries of the Mayan World

As the sun rises over Tulum on February 15th, the air is filled with anticipation and the promise of adventure. The weather is perfect for a day of exploration, with temperatures hovering around a comfortable 78.8°F and a gentle breeze to keep you cool. This is the ideal day to dive into the heart of Mayan culture and history.

Start your journey with the Turtle Swim and Cenote Adventure tour, available from 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM. This thrilling excursion takes you to the serene Akumal Beach, where you can snorkel alongside majestic sea turtles in their natural habitat. The experience is nothing short of magical, as you glide through the crystal-clear waters, surrounded by the vibrant marine life of the Riviera Maya. After your underwater adventure, venture into the jungle to discover the Cenote Nohoch Nah Chich, a hidden oasis that offers a refreshing swim in its mineral-rich waters. The cenote’s tranquil beauty is a stark contrast to the adrenaline-pumping turtle encounter, providing a perfect balance to your morning.

“Awe inspiring cenote experience with Pablo - Had a wonderful experience with Pablo as our guide. Stopped by Akumal beach for sea turtle sightings but the cenote swim was the absolute highlight. It’s hard to put into words the sense of awe and serenity the cenote invokes. Pablo provided very helpful commentary throughout - with plenty of humor too! Absolutely would recommend as a Tulum day trip.” - Reviewed at 2024-11-30

Journey Through Time at Coba and Tulum

On February 16th, the skies may be overcast, but that only adds to the mystique of the ancient ruins waiting to be explored. The Coba & Tulum Ruins Adventure tour, starting at 7:00 AM, is your gateway to the past. Begin your day at the Coba archaeological site, where the towering Nohoch Mul Pyramid stands as a testament to the ingenuity of the Maya civilization. As you wander through the ancient city, the stories of the past come alive, whispering through the wind that rustles the leaves of the surrounding jungle.

Next, travel to the walled city of Tulum, perched on a cliff overlooking the turquoise Caribbean Sea. The Temple of the Frescoes and the Castillo are just a few of the awe-inspiring structures that await your discovery. As you explore these ancient wonders, the overcast skies create a dramatic backdrop, enhancing the sense of mystery and adventure.

“Fun packed adventure - I decided on this tour because of all the activities promised for the day. Not to mention the good reviews. I was worried I’d be disappointed because they cancelled & changed days on us. They redeemed themselves though & promised us we’d get some pictures. I’m so glad we went because every single activity was fun & worth it. Our guide Israel was knowledgeable & funny. Everything I asked he answered & nothing felt rushed. Our group was a small 10-12 people. We got to experience everything that was promised. Our group was the first to arrive & I loved that! We did a walk through the jungle to get to the cenote. The cenote was wonderful & relaxing. We did two zip lines, then rode a canoe to get our lunch which was completely authentic & delicious. Once we were done in the Mayan community we went on our way to Coba, and what a marvelous place. Not an easy task climbing up the amazing pyramid but so worth it. If I’d change anything, it would only be to have more time available to shop, but by the end of the day you do so much that you end up beyond satisfied.” - Reviewed at 2019-05-01
