Highlights
  • Cenotes Dos Ojos - If you’re not familiar with a Cenote (pronounced Se-Noh-Tay), once worshiped by the early Mayans as entrance ways to the underworld, they’re large sinkholes that occur naturally in the limestone rock in this area of Mexico. Sometimes they’re open-air pits and sometimes they’re caved in caverns. With the vast network of underground rivers throughout the peninsula.

There are dozens of freshwater cenotes from Cancun down to Tulum in the Riviera and all the way to Merida further west in the Yucatan Peninsula. The Sac Actun system, where Dos Ojos and Cenote Manati are located in northeast Quintana Roo, Mexico, is among the most extensive underwater cave systems located along the Caribbean coast of the Yucatan Peninsula.

It’s an impressive two sinkholes of 70 meters in diameter connected by a 400 meter long passageway. The visibility through the water is amazing. The water temperature is ideal for snorkeling at a constant 24-25 degrees Celsius (77 Fahrenheit) throughout the year.

  • Casa Cenote - Casa Cenote or Cenote Manati, people know it by those 2 names, is one of the most Spectacular Cenotes around, it’s a 5 mt wide, 5 mt deep, 400 mts length open cenote, beautiful, just across the ocean, it has some current. We love this place because is still one of the hidden jewels of the Riviera Maya.

Great experience with a wonderful guide Jesus - Couldn’t be happier with our Cenote experience and Viator tours. My husband and I took a collectivo shuttle from our hotel to Tulum to the meeting point which was easy to find. We got to see two gorgeous cenotes - casa Cenote which was open air Cenote and Dos Ojos which is the more cave like Cenote. Both absolutely stunning and different. Neither one of us is a diver so we picked the half day snorkeling tour. The staff is amazing, responsive and very professional. Provided all the equipment and our guide Jesus was the best guy to have. Patient laid back and very knowledgeable. We felt like we had our own private tour. You will get snacks and water while on the tour which was perfect. Bring a water tight phone bag and quick dry towels and enjoy.

Ceynotes in Tulum - This was one of those unexpected surprises that you come across when travelling. Jesus our guide was fantastic and the two ceynotes were surprisingly different each so amazing. We did the tour in the afternoon which worked out to be our best decision as the vast majority of tour groups had already finished by the time we arrived.

Awesome tour! - Great experience! The two cenotes we went to were breathtaking, especially Dos Ojos! But meeting Panchito at Casa Cenote was a cool experience as well;-) Great guide - unfortunately I don’t remember his name, apologies for this! I highly recommend this tour to everyone coming to Tulum!
