In 2019, the Tully River was the host venue for the International Rafting Federation’s World Rafting Championships. Renowned globally, this river ensures a peak rafting adventure, boasting over 40 rapids that surge through a magnificent rainforest gorge. Rated as a Grade 4/5 river, the Tully promises an intense, unforgettable journey for those hunting for the ultimate rafting experience in Australia.
We offer two distinct schedules to enjoy the Tully River, which you can view below; these two are identical except for their respective departure times. The Tully River operates on a hydro power system, hence scheduled activities depend on the water release timings.
- Children aged 13-18 years require a parent or guardians counter signature on waiver form
- Please bring lace-up shoes (that WILL get wet), swim suit and towel, a change of dry clothes, and waterproof sunscreen
- Minimum age is 13 years
- Not suitable for anyone who may be pregnant
- $30 per person River Levy is payable on the day of travel

Unmissable!! - Tully is renowned for being an incredible White Water Rafting venue and I can vouch that it is! we have rafted in various locations all over the world including the famous Zambezi in Africa, but this trip on the Tully was the best! The 35 rapids were grade 2-4 with so many huge rapids we spent the day screaming, laughing and hanging on !! The guides (Paul and Sean) were lovely and patient and the organising staff (Dan and Talia) were funny and entertaining. Talia took amazing photos which we could purchase at the end (we split the cost with everyone in our raft) and we saw whilst we ate dinner at the local pub after the trip (all included). Despite the big rapids we felt completely safe and they really made our day fun. It was worth every cent!

A great family experience. - This was our second time doing this. Our guide this time was Paul. 10/10. Great day and great family activity. We’ll more than likely be back for a third time!

Most exhilarating experience! - The Tully white water rafting experience was amazing. We had the most enthusiastic and experienced guide in Johnny who kept us safe and entertained throughout the 11 hr day. Everything from beginning to end ran smoothly and despite ending up with a bruise or two we wouldn’t change a thing about the tour. It was exhilarating and connected us to nature in a way rarely experienced in this very controlled world we now live in. If I could rate it 10 stars out of five I would. Do yourselves a favour and get onboard with this most uniquely amazing experience, you won’t regret it!

Best adventure of our family holiday - We had an amazing afternoon with our rafttie Dan. We went with our 14 & 16 year old daughters who found this experience the highlight of our family holiday. My husband and I also loved it! The views were breath taking, the thrills were exciting and the laughter flowed from our raft!

tully river rafting is funny - The whole tour is amazing. Very exciting. The scene is beautiful and the staffs are very friendly. Our captain Dan is very funny, reliable and careful about not only us but also others safety.

Best part of the trip. - First time white water rafting and it was a blast. Max was an amazing instructor/host giving us a bit history of river and it's surrounding area. The rapids were awesome getting completely wet and almost going under. Getting to jump off very high rocks and floating down the river. Overall it was the best part of the trip. 10/10

Magical Tully - We had the best time, the Tully is magical and such magnificent river to see the rainforest, waterfalls and wild life. Andy our tour guide made our white water rafting experience so memorable. The rapid were great fun, and Andy gave us the best experience on the river.

Amazing time with Erin and Paulie! - Had an amazing time rafting, the guides were very fun. A personal thank you to Erin and Paulie! Dream team was only possible due to dream coaches :) Safety was a top priority and the guides tailor the trip while on it to match the group more so everyone can have fun while avoiding accidents or injuries. You can choose a more wild or more tame route based on athleticism and other factors but even the more wild things the average person can do easily.

Really fun day even in the rain - This was a great day on the river learning how to white water raft. The day starts quite late if travelling from cairns but this is explained that it’s due to when the dam releases the water at around 3. It meant for great conditions along the rapids. Our guide Erin was amazing and super informative which meant for a perfect cruise along the river. Her instructions were clear and maximised our entertainment. Thank you for a brill day :)
