Family Tour of the Sequoias - Our family of 4 booked a private tour with Scott of the Sequoias & had the absolute best experience! Scott is the perfect tour guide! He was well prepared, so we felt safe from the start, explained all that our tour would cover during our 2 hours together & from that moment on the details of what he shared with us about the Sequoias, the history of national parks, the importance of caring for our environment, the beauty of the forest, & the interesting personal stories & experiences that he shared throughout our tour was incredible! I'm so glad that we booked this tour on our first day in the Sequoia National Park because it helped us to appreciate & understand the area so much more the rest of our time in the Park. His vast experience as a biology major, years working with black bears in the national parks, & experience working with nature were all a blessing on our tour, especially with all of the questions that our 12 year old son had for him. I also appreciated the pace that Scott had with the tour because it was a nice walk down to General Sherman and the lower part of the forest, but he definitely prepared us in advance for the hike uphill all the way back to the main lot, which was so helpful for us to be mentally prepared for. He also reminded us to stay hydrated because of the elevation & at one point where my daughter was feeling a little under the weather, he was able to access her symptoms & explained how the elevation & hydration were playing a part & made sure we took care of her until she was feeling better. Another highlight is that Scott is an amazing photographer! We didn't purchase that as a part of our tour package, but it's available on his website, but the photos he took for our family from my cell throughout our tour were stunning! He absolutely has a photographers eye & it can be seen in our pictures. Scott also knew where to take the BEST photos & captured beautiful memories that we'll cherish forever. We plan to take an additional tour with him in the future, he has snow shoe tours in the winter and we want to come back and do the Astronomy Night Tour on our next visit. We highly recommend Scott & Big Tree Tours!

Best Experience at Sequoia National Park - We had the best time snowshoeing with Scot on our visit to Sequoia National Park. Our family, 2 adults and 3 kids between the ages of 8-14, walked away with amazing memories. Scott was patient with my daughter’s silly antics, knowledgeable, and just the nicest guy. When we encountered some unforeseen delays, he generously offered to extend the duration of our tour/ hike. Our snowshoeing experience was stellar. While snowshoeing is a workout, he chose a trail that was doable for all of us. Scott took his time to educate us with fun facts about the wildlife, trees, and general ecosystem of the region. I highly recommend Big Trees Tours and Scott to anyone looking to explore the Sequoias.

Superb tour through the Giant Forest - Excellent in every way. Scott is not only expert in his knowledge of the forest, his friendly personality made our day of snow shoeing the highlight of our camping trip to Sequoia National Park. Sharing his knowledge of the trees, the history of the place, as well as the fauna, gave us a much better experience than if we had tried to take this hike on our own. We highly recommend this tour.

Educational night under the stars... - We drove 20 minutes from our Three Rivers Airbnb to Potwisha Campground in Sequoia. Scott brought out chairs for us and a telescope and gave us a great introduction to the night sky, giving the kids a better understanding of how our solar system and galaxy fit into our universe. Scott is very friendly and great with kids, and he has a laser pointer that is so powerful he can easily point out which star he is talking about, which is very helpful. I highly recommend this for a great family educational activity.
