Highlights

Meeting of Waters - The journey begins when we pick you up in Manaus. We head to Ceasa Port, where we board a speedboat, with a first stop along the Rio Negro river to the meeting of the waters. The trip will continue by car to Ubim Lake. From Ubim Lake, you’ll continue by speedboat on a 30-50 minute ride. Arriving at the lodge, you will be welcomed with refreshments as your accommodations are prepared.
At noon lunch is served and there is a little time to relax and prepare things for this first day’s activities. At 02:30 pm the group will depart by motorized canoe to fish for piranhas, watch colorful birds, and enjoy a wonderful sunset from the middle of the river. After returning to the lodge, dinner will be served at 7pm.

After dinner, you depart again by motorized canoe in search of the elusive Cayman. Your jungle guide will scoop one up, allowing you to see it up close, before carefully releasing it into its natural habitat once again!

Family of 6 from Las Vegas had a great time - We visited the Amazon from the US and brought our whole family. Joshua and his team were fantastic. They went above and beyond and even picked us up at the airport to take us to our hotel and dropped us off after. Joshua communicates with you personally the entire time and you always have his cell #. Our guides were outstanding (Ken and Cobra, along with the boat drivers) and spoke fluent English. Very good food, customer service, they didn't nickel and dime or pressure us for anything... Our favorites were visiting a local tribe and some of the people living along the river. Piranha fishing and seeing the wildlife were really cool. There are a lot of terrifying bugs around, but when your lodge is 20 feet from the Amazon river in the middle of the jungle, that's part of the experience. The rooms were very clean and well maintained. We had a great time and would recommend it to everyone.

Amazing experience for families! - Joshua’s is just an amazing experience! We are a family of 5, with kids of 11, 9 and 5 years old. Everything about the trip was easy…all the logistical details were taken care of for the entire trip from start to finish. The tour itself was private, which gave us flexibility to adjust, something we appreciated as a family with young kids. And the experience itself was incredible! Our only regret is that we only stayed two nights!

Night safari - Quality expertise. The campsite, facilities and food were all superb. Our guide Osmar was first class and an amazing hunter - he can find any animal - monkeys, sloths, alligators - and at night. The final day swimming with dolphins capped a great three day trip. If you love touring the Amazon on a speedboat. This trips for you. And even the mosquitos hardly bit, and I always get bitten. Stephen, Northern Ireland

Highly recommended - This was a fantastic tour. It was everything it advertised and more. From the outset dealing with Joshua was effortless- he responded quickly clearly and after our initial and enquires and then follow up questions we had the tour booked in a couple of hours (we were in Brazil time). The tour was everything it advertised and more. Our guide, Pepe, was very knowledgeable about the animals and jungle in particular and he went out oof his way to make sure we had a good experience. The cabins at the Tucan are simple (it is the Amazon) but have everything you need including efficient air conditioning and a fan and the setting is spectacular. The food in the lovely dining room was very good including daily samples of Amazon fish. There is also a large open deck with hammocks for the middle of the day when all the animals were escaping the heat. I would highly recommend this tour.

Getting into the Amazon - The trip was everything we hoped for and more. From the time we met Pepe our guide to the time that Marcos the driver returned us to the hotel everything went well.

A great experience in the Amazon Rainforest - It was fun and educational. Cobra, our guide, is native to the area and knew all the best spots to catch fish, crocodiles, and see wildlife. Very knowledgable, great tour guide. Hiking through the jungle was reasonable and necessary. Meeting with the indigenous people of the Amazon was the best. I highly recommend this tour.

Bear Grylls has nothing on Cobra! - This was a fantastic, once in a lifetime 3 days and 2 nights tour! You’re always nervous booking trips in a different country when there aren’t many reviews but this gamble paid off. Joshua’s Amazon Expeditions is well run, their communication is good and with Cobra, they surely have the best Guide there is. Growing up there, his local knowledge meant we could experience the real Amazonia. He’s well educated which meant he was teaching us for the duration of the trip. Thank you Cobra! Tucan Lodge met expectations, please do not expect luxury but for somewhere so remote, it met our needs for a short trip. Staff were friendly, food was satisfactory, AC was ineffective (electric fan worked better) and it had WiFi (which is a good or bad thing depending on which way you look at it!). Mosquito repellent is a must...the little blighters.

Amazing Tour! 5* - Unfortunately our flight was delayed into Manaus and we were late for the first day activities, but 1 quick call to Joshua and he had arranged a new driver to collect us from the airport when we landed who took us straight to the lodge and the rest of the tour. Joshua was very professional and spoke very good English. He kept in contact with me throughout the whole delay ensuring we made it onto our new flight and that there were no issues. The jungle experience was incredible and we were lucky to have Matias as a guide who also spoke perfect English and knew the rainforest like the back of his hand. The experience was amazing and would strongly recommend this to all everyone.

Taste of the Amazon - Joshua's brother Marco collected us from the airport & took us to our hotel for 1 night before our tour. Then collected us again early next morning to take us into the Amazon. It surpassed our expectations, it was really well organised & great customer service. To wake up in the morning & see grey dolphins swimming past our lodge was a delight. Titan our guide, his wife & 6 year old son were lovely & looked after us very well.

Amazon - choose your own adventure - We had a great time on our trip with Josh's Amazon tours. While only 2 nights we covered a lot of ground with plenty of time for relxing in hammocks. Advice would be to chat with you guide everyday about what you want to do, we quicky found out the itinerary is there as a starting base and can change depending on weather or something else you want to do. We also met others on the trip, our group was small but also at the lodge. Enjoy!
