Lao Cai - Lung Khau Nhin Market - Cao Son Lodge (Must be on Thursday)

Muong Khuong - The journey begins at Lung Khau Nhin market, a quaint market nestled within a verdant pine forest.

Visitors will encounter various ethnic minority groups adorned in their vibrant traditional attire, including the Flower Hmong, Tu Di, Tay, and Giay communities. The market offers an array of homemade goods such as fresh produce and even livestock, all sold by the locals. Additionally, there is an opportunity to engage with the community and savor their traditional cuisine.

After exploring the market, guests will be transported to Cao Son Lodge for check-in and lunch.

In the afternoon, the itinerary includes a walk to the serene village of Tin Thang. Here, visitors can delve into the local lifestyle, observe traditional bacon-making methods, and enjoy corn wine and corn cake offered by the villagers.

Cao Son - Chay River - Trung Do - Sapa (Must be on Friday)

Cao Son Market - A walk to Sicala village, one of the oldest in the Cao Son region, offers a glimpse into the unique traditions and customs of the local people. The village also provides breathtaking views of the lush valley along the Chay River.

Lunch will be served at Ta Thang school.

Following lunch and a brief rest, the afternoon program features a delightful boat trip along the Chay River. This journey allows guests to enjoy the refreshing atmosphere, picturesque riverside scenery, and observe the daily life of villagers residing along the riverbanks.

A bamboo raft ride will then take visitors to explore the Tien (Fairy) Cave.

Sapa - The final stop on the second day is Trung Do village, home to the Tay ethnic group. Tay villages are typically located at the base of a mountain or near a stream, often named after natural features like mountains, fields, or rivers. Each village comprises about 15-20 households, with larger villages divided into smaller hamlets. Their stilt houses are a distinctive feature. While exploring, visitors can enter a traditional Tay home to enjoy a cup of tea.

After leaving the village, guests will be transported to Sapa, concluding the second day’s tour.

Sapa - Ta Phin - Mong Sen - Lao Cai (Must be on Saturday)

Ta Phin Village - The third day begins with a visit to Ta Phin village, where the Red Dao and Black Hmong communities reside. Here, visitors can witness the distinct cultural practices of these two prominent ethnic groups, who coexist harmoniously while preserving their traditions. A walk through the village lanes offers insights into the unique architectural styles, interior designs, and handicrafts of the local homes.

Departing the village, the tour continues downhill along a dirt trail through a mountainous landscape. Along the way, guests can admire the breathtaking views of the rice terraces and cornfields. It’s a perfect opportunity for photography enthusiasts to capture these stunning scenes. Lunch will be enjoyed at a scenic spot.

Lao Cai - After lunch and a short break, the tour proceeds with a trek down to Mong Sen, where transportation awaits to return guests to Lao Cai station. From there, a comfortable train ride back to Hanoi concludes the journey.
