The journey begins in the morning as the operator departs from Bucharest, heading towards the Bulgarian border at Ruse. After crossing the Danube River, the operator will reach Basarbovo Monastery in about 1.5 hours. This Bulgarian Orthodox cave monastery was established during the Second Bulgarian Empire. The next destination is the renowned city of Veliko Tarnovo, which boasts a history spanning over 5,000 years. The highlight of this visit is Tsaravets Palace, which served as the royal residence for Bulgarian emperors from 1185 to 1393 and was constructed on the remnants of a Byzantine city. Once the exploration of this magnificent site is complete, the operator will wander through the city’s ancient streets and enjoy a traditional lunch.
