The next addition was a new Museum Hangar, built by Bruns construction and completed in September 2009 through a generous grant from the Ohio Cultural Facilities Foundation. This new building is home to vintage WACO aircraft, displays and the history of the WACO Aircraft Company. A Quonset hut and picnic shelter were added in 2012.

Additional Information

The WACO Aircraft Corporation was the top creator of civilian airplanes in the 1920s and 1930s. The WACO Air Museum was established in tribute to the employees that contributed to its success. WACO also engineered and manufactured the CG4A glider utilized in the Second World War. Allocate at least sixty minutes to listen to the audio tour (which can now be accessed with QR codes and your mobile device). The museum houses a Glider Theater showcasing footage from the World War II era and offers a chance to test out the WACO simulator. There are 10 aircrafts exhibited, along with plant souvenirs. Experience aviation’s golden era by embarking on a journey in an open cockpit bi-plane. Pioneers require prior bookings.

Friendly museum - Regret we didn’t have more time so will return next time in the area. Great exhibition of well preserved and presented Waco aircraft from pre WW2 and lots of other artifacts. Even a free to use flight simulator to try. Granddaughter loved it. Lots of interesting things to buy in the shop. No pressure to buy. A bit out of the way but well worth finding.
