Additional Information

Explore the city with a local who is passionate about their home place. You can customize the tour or leave it to the discretion of the local for a insightful initiation to the city. Make your travel more about the people you encounter, not just the locations you visit. With our walking tours, you get to spend less time on generic historical tours and more time exploring the city from a local’s viewpoint. Experience a tour that adjusts the way you travel, focusing equally on the interactions with locals as on the sights you witness. Our local guides (Lokafyers) are devoted enthusiasts of their city, keen on sharing their in-depth knowledge and unique perspective. As Lokafyers are not professional guides and only provide occasional tours, they offer a genuine and personal experience, akin to a friend guiding you around their city. By the conclusion of the tour, you’ll feel at ease getting around the city and be confident that you have all the essential information you require for a fulfilling stay.

  • Lokafy tours provide a general overview of the city with practical information from a local’s perspective, not detailed historical facts
  • In case travellers would like to include a visit to an attraction, they would need to cover the cost of entrance for themselves and also the Lokafyer (local guide)
  • Tours are entirely personalized, please provide the start time, meeting place and information about you so that we can organize the tour
  • This is a walking tour. We recommend wearing comfortable shoes

Trondheim is a hidden Jewel! - I thought Trondheim would be a boring industrial port - WRONG! It is an amazing town - full of color, culture, amazing views, a beautiful cathedral, canals, modern buildings, festivals - so, so much. And the food!!! It is definitely a foodie's paradise. So many options - from so many cultures. I walked all over, and still needed to do more to see everything, but my feet were pooped. You can easily walk from the cruise port to the Cathedral - just give yourself time to find treasures along the way. And then wander back on a different route, and see the painted buildings along the canal - awesome views. One interesting thing - really hard to find an ATM on a Sunday - they were inside the bank foyer, and you needed a code (not just an ATM card) to get in. Fortunately, was able to do everything by card. But had to tip in American $$ because of no access to Norwegian kr.

Great way to learn about the city in 1 day - Carmen was an absolutely fabulous tour guide. We walked all over the heart of Trondheim and learned more in 3 hours than we could have hoped. She was friendly, personable and very knowledgeable. The only hiccup we had is the booking company got us confused and we were waiting for her in a different location than she thought. She was very quick to accommodate us and meet us where we were.

Found a new bird in Trondheim, beautiful Magpie - 2 hour walking tour with Carmen of the city. She was full of tips to navigate the city and history. She went out of her way to show us restaurants, special shopping stores and the location of our other boat trip. We also saw a new bird she identified for us

Just save your money and do the midtown loop walk - A complete waste of money. There is a free 6.7 Km walk around the main sights of Trondheim with signs scattered about explaining things in Norsk and English. Trondheim is a photography paradise and if you walk at leisure it’s far better.
