For centuries, the reindeer and the Sami people have coexisted and worked on this land, and only recently have they begun welcoming guests into their daily lives. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore their camp and feed a herd of approximately 300 wild reindeer, some of which may even eat directly from their hands. Following this, guests will be invited to enjoy hot beverages around a fire inside a cozy, candlelit gamme (a traditional Sami hut), where lunch will be served. The meal includes bidos, a traditional Sami stew often prepared for weddings and other special occasions, cooked over an open fire.
After lunch, guests will be welcomed into a lavvu (a Sami tent) to gather around the fire and listen to stories about Sami culture and the life of a reindeer herder. The Sami guide will also perform a joik, a traditional Sami song, for the guests.
