Excellent experience - We had the best time at arctic tromso with the reindeer. Very well organised trip. We loved the sleigh trip and had ample time spent wandering around the herd before a lovely dinner and Sami stories. Highly recommend

Easy fun day out - An enjoyable easy day out! The bus leaves from down inside the bus terminal so easy to find. Fed the reindeer then had a sled ride around them. Then ate reindeer stew in a warm hut with hot drinks and cookies too. The very interesting part was the 2 young girls talking about Sami culture, we really enjoyed that part

Great experience! - We spent a great afternoon with Tromso Arctic Reindeer. They transported us from the bus station by coach which took about 30 minutes. On arrival we went into a Sami tent where they told us what would happen. We then went on the reindeer sled which was fun, and then we fed the reindeer. Hot drinks were available throughout. We had a chance to try lasooing and then ate reindeer stew. At the end we went back into the tent where our guide told us all about the Sami culture & taught us how to sing Sami songs. Then we were transported back to the bus station. A great activity which we thoroughly enjoyed!

So lovely! - This visit was wonderful! Loved meeting the reindeer and the sleigh ride was beautiful. My favorite part was listening to a member of the Sami sharing her history, songs and culture so generously with us. My five year old was fascinated by it too. You can stay warm in the Lavvu tents and wonder out as you please when there’s down time. The grounds are beautiful and it was definitely a highlight of our time in Tromso.

This day trip was very... - This day trip was very interesting, fun and informative; we learned about Sami culture and reindeers/herding from a Sami woman (in Tromsø studying at the university) who spoke authentically and well of her culture and was a great tour guide. Thank you to all! The reindeer were super cute, got to feed them for a while :)

Reindeer sledding - Reindeer sledding was so much fun. I chose this adventure through Viator because of the length of the sledding experience. It was much longer than any I had seen. We had fun first feeding the reindeer and then being pulled through a beautiful snowy pastureland overlooking a fjord. Afterwards we learned about the Sami people and enjoyed a lunch of reindeer stew. There was a small gift shop on the property with unique items to remember this day by. This is a “must do” experience.

Enjoyable and leasurely ride - The tour is well organized. It was fun to get close to the reindeer to feed them and take a leasurely ride in a sled. It was also educational to learn about Sami culture and people. The guide was very engaging. Good tour for yonger kids or elderly. Even though it was a big group, we were split up and there are many different spaces to warm up with tea, coffee, cookies and delicious soup. So it didn't feel crowded

Nice idea but slightly disappointing - The idea is lovely but sledding was disappointing. For a start all of the sledges were wet and for people that didn’t have waterproof clothing it was miserable sitting in wet clothes. It wouldn’t have taken much to have quickly wiped off the wood. We thought we were going through the countryside on a small trip, but it ended up just being led round with the group of sledges through one big field. The second part we were able to feed the reindeer, but a lot of the reindeer were not interested because they had already been fed by the previous group. The lunch was very tasty and the talk by the Sami was very interesting and informative. We did learn lots and our young guides were great.
