Amazing hosts! Amazing Lights! - Weather conditions looked dire, and we were worried that our Northern Lights experience was not to be. BUT Joanna and Sokrates saved the day! (or should I say night :-)
They were absolutely wonderful hosts, and although we were losing hope with the weather, we had a couple hours of complete magic with an unbelievable aurora show. Unforgettable memories... thank you again for everything!

Hans and Socrates are the best team for the best experience of the northern lights! Cannot recommend enough! - Honestly unbelievable experience. Granted the northern lights being visible is not up to the tour but the expertise and safe, confident ability of the teams is what maximises your chances. Hans Erik and Socrates were both incredibly knowledgeable, capable and friendly. Can’t recommend them enough and hope you get them for your tour. Hans camera skills as well were on point!

Highly recommended - We did the tour with Vera who didn’t rest until we found a place where we could not only enjoy the auroras, but also be a beautiful place in itself. We made many miles and many attempts until we got it but it was worth it.
We had previously done a bus tour and it has no point of comparison. It's not worth the price difference. With the bus we stopped at a couple of places next to the road and it certainly wasn't the best option.

Wonderful Aurora, awesome tour - I was on my belated birthday trip in Tromso to chase the Northern Lights as it was on my bucket list ever since I can remember. I went on this tour despite low chances of seeing Aurora that night due to some rain and very thick cloud cover. I was aware that seeing the lights cannot be guaranteed as it's quiet unpredictable and really depends on the weather but it was part of the adventure so I went and I didn't regret.
My guide, Hans-Eric and his driver, Jan did everything in their power to drive us to a location with some Aurora visibility during the night. After 10 pm, the sky cleared and we had the most amazing display of the Northern Lights - it was much more than I wished for. Hans-Eric was very friendly, knowledgable and the photos he took are incredible. The tour was very well organised, the driver was skilled, I also got hot chocolate and we could warm up by the campfire.
It was definitely an adventure for a lifetime. I would 100% recommend this tour!

Great aurora experience - Had a fantastic evening and Dimi was a great guide. The solar activity started about 10 minutes after we left so we pulled over in a parking spot and admitted it for an hour, it was phenomenal. The camp fire later was also nice - good hot chocolate, marshmallows and cookies. Thanks for a very memorable night!

Once in a lifetime experience - Both our driver and guide were absolutely amazing. They told us what to expect, we did not start with a clear sky but we tried anyway - and so glad we did! We chased the lights, found a great spot, by the beach, had a campfire with marshmallows , hot choco and cookies, and Aneta took great pictures of us. Thank you both Aneta and Socrates for an unforgatteble night! :)

Skilled and knowledgeable guide and driver - We holidayed in Norway with the specific hope of seeing the Northern Lights and we were not disappointed. Our guide, Hans Eric, and driver, Jan, ensured that, despite cloud cover, we found a spot to view this beautiful phenomenon in a small group. Hans Eric was generous in sharing his knowledge and we enjoyed the campfire and hot chocolate. Hans Eric took photographs, but there was no hard sell to buy any of them. We very much enjoyed the trip and would definitely recommend Polar Adventures.

Disappointed - I echo D uk70's comments entirely.
I think reviews fall into 2 categories. Those that saw the lights and those that didn’t. We didn't.
On Monday 3rd March we initially met the Belgian guy who allocated passengers to one of 4 bus’s. We were initially with an all English speaking group. But passengers were given the chance to cancel as he wasn’t hopeful of a show due to the snow.
As it was our last night so we decided to give it a go. He did have thermal suits on his bus by the way.
As several people did cancel the operator went down to 3 mini buses. We were decamped to a bus with, I think, an eastern European guide and driver and mixed nationalities. I'm not raising this as a negative as they all seemed to understand English. But, it went down hill from here.
The guide didn’t introduce herself and she didn’t really explain anything about what was happening or where we were going.
She said some random facts on the drive about ice on the lakes but most of the time she seemed to be having a jovial conversation with the driver. As for the driver, we'd ended up on the Ibiza techno rave party in a sauna bus during our 2 1/2 hour excursion south, in a snow storm.
Despite several requests from passengers for the music to be turned down, it would be a bit but slowly creep up (although fine on the way back as we'd swapped to, I'm guessing, Ukrainian (?) folk music at a reasonable volume).
It's very disconcerting having a driver holding the steering wheel with 1 hand whilst the other hand was tapping away energetically to the techno beat. He was clearly confident, even comfortable, in his own driving skills, I however was the quivering Brit fearing my demise.
Bearing in mind we were all geared up, clothing wise, for an external night activity, the driver was determined to keep the temperature at 24c. Far too hot. I complained as my leg was getting roasted whilst in the cramped seat, temp would be set lower, but would soon creep back up to the point you just give up asking.
After the 2 1/2 hrs drive we randomly stopped by the side of a road, surrounded by trees. Driver lit the fire, we had hot chocolate and those that wanted them had marshmallows. Guide interacted, a bit, but mostly spoke with the guests from her own country. I was disappointed visually at the stopping position. The Belgium guy set the vision of his bus stopping by a lake to have the fire. Lovely!
I'd like to think the guide was in contact with the other 2 bus's whilst we chased the lights, but I'm not convinced. She was constantly on her phone texting or talking to the driver but she didn't tell us anything helpful.
What added insult, to my already grumpy mood with my experience, I discovered when chatting with guests at our hotel the next morning that they had gone north (towards Finland) and had a wonderful light show. Even my amateur app I'd downloaded suggested north was the way to go as had recent reviews elsewhere saying they'd gone north. But I'd put my trust in Polar Adventures. Silly me.
This would have been 1 star review. But the hot chocolate was nice and I appreciate that they did drop people at their hotels. It was about 1am when we got back so this was a nice touch.

Very disappointing experience, not what I expected - First of all - seeing the Northern Lights is always going to be dependent on a clear sky and solar activity. This review is NOT related to the actual northern light visibility as this is outside of the control of the guide. It is however related to the experience with Polar Adventures and our guide Alvaro.
After researching many options I picked Polar Adventures because they seemed well organised and seemed to be transparent about the travelling / re-booking options in the case of limited chance of Northern Lights activity.
In contrast to the information on Polar Adventures' website:
* We were not offered an insulated body suit
* We were not offered to leave the bus in the case of poor chances of visibility and receive a full refund. On the day we booked it was raining (so clearly overcast) and very low solar activity was forecast
* The snacks consisted of biscuits from a supermarket
Neither the driver nor the guide were local. The driver played loud and terrible techno music from the outset, half way into the journey the bus passengers requested something different. The return journey we again had to listen to the driver's techno noise. Worse than his taste in music was his ability to drive as a professional driver with a van full of tourists. He was often tailgating other vehicles, harassing them by flashing his lights and on the return journey was often driving fast on the wrong side of the road even. It was a miracle no accident happened.
The bus stopped at a field at 10pm where the guide was optimistic there would be clear skies within 30 minutes. This meant waiting in the rain outside for 30 minutes hoping the skies would clear.
Luckily for the guide the weather forecast he used was indeed correct, the rain stopped and the skies cleared. There were, as predicted, very faint northern lights visible. But as stated above, my rating is not based on the intensity of the northern lights.
Perhaps we were unlucky with our driver/guide but our trip was a very poorly managed evening.
