Special and exciting - Absolutely positive experience. I think our guide was absolutely competent, he shared us different information and curiosities about the aurora and the local culture and with absolute recklessness and patience led us to different points until finally nature decided to show itself and get excited with the aurora. The hike was very pleasant, because we spent the time waiting drinking a hot chocolate and dining with a hot soup around the fire.

Highly recommend! - Amazing experience with JJ (driver David). Would highly recommend! JJ took the time to drive around (whilst there were no lights) and was testing out spots to find the one with that had less wind … he wanted to make sure that we would all be warmer as the wait for the Aurora can be hours - really appreciated! The light show was spectacular and JJ definitely went to a spot where we had the longest amount of cloud-free coverage as possible (a window of a few hours). The stew and marshmallows around the campfire were a treat! Also, can’t wait to see the photographs/portraits that he took!

Great tour and fabulous guide - This was a great tour and the guide was fantastic. The minibus was super comfortable and the entire experience was amazing. We moved to another location to get another sight of the Aurora. I walked away with more knowledge of the Aurora and warm food in my belly and toasted marshmallows!

Amazing experience with Kat - We faced weather challenges with rain and clouds, along with time constraints due to the cruise ship schedule. Kat, our experienced driver and guide, is highly knowledgeable about the Aurora and Norwegian culture. She drove near the Finnish border, searching for better conditions. She did an AMAZING job! They truly care about us.

The best experience in Norway - Kat was the VERY BEST guide! We had gone on a lackluster northern lights hunt a few days prior and didn't have high hopes, but we were blessed with EXCELLENT conditions and Kat took us to a great location by the water and set up camp. She was so so knowledgable, and filled us with interesting info that we hadn't gotten on previous tours. I feel like I am an expert now! We were SO LUCKY with what we saw, and she took amazing pictures so we could just enjoy the view and not worry about capturing what we were seeing. We had hot chocolate and soup and marshmallows. I LOVED the thermal suit, I was so cozy the whole time.

Spectacular tour, highlight of my trip!!! - This tour turned out to be the absolute highlight of my trip. At first, I had some reservations — the group was full with 17 people, the van was a bit tight, with small seats and hardly any legroom. I was also worried because I’d heard that if the northern lights were elusive, we might have to drive all the way to Finland, which sounded like a long and uncomfortable trek. Luckily, our guide Cat discovered an incredible light display just 45 minutes outside Tromsø. After soaking it all in, we warmed up with hot chocolate and enjoyed Bidos, a traditional Sami reindeer stew that was absolutely delicious. I can’t recommend this tour enough, and do yourself a favor: ask for Cat — she was simply amazing.

Amazing Experience - The tour was fantastic, was a wonderful experience got to watch the fantastic lights.Kat who was our tour guide was very knowledgeable and skilled photographer. She took very good care of all of us went to each to setup there cameras to get the best shots. The only downside was I was seated at the last row and 4 people in the last row felt a bit cramped.

The best guide JJ ❤️ - Despite it was raining the whole day our guide was able to take us to clear sky out in Finland to watch the aurora. We were lucky to have a guide JJ so knowledgeable in hunting the northern lights 👍

High on effort, low on execution - This is a compromise rating. On effort, I give our guide and driver a 5. But, on execution, a 3. I can't fault them for the weather, and we did see lights, thanks to their effort. But, first, if there's a 3-4 hour drive, most tours have some facts or games or stories or even music to keep the guests engaged, at least on the way out. We had nothing but silence. Then, when we found a spot with some clear space in the skies and lights were active, they placed the campfire between us and where the lights were active, making it more difficult. Finally, our guide snd especially driver walked around with bright white headlights shining in our eyes, seemingly oblivious the effect of that. A bit more attention to detail would go a long way.
