Every evening we use the latest weather update to choose the area around Tromso with best chances for clear skies.
At 7 pm, we pick you up outside main entrance of Radisson Blu Hotel and walk you 100 meters to our office where we show you the proper Aurora/night photography settings on your camera/mobile phone.
Then we give you warm overalls and boots,…
Every evening we use the latest weather update to choose the area around Tromso with best chances for clear skies.
At 7 pm, we pick you up outside main entrance of Radisson Blu Hotel and walk you 100 meters to our office where we show you the proper Aurora/night photography settings on your camera/mobile phone.
Then we give you warm overalls and boots, and drive you straight to the best spot. Some nights the Aurora is visible as soon as we arrive, while other evenings we relax with coffee and muffins while we wait for her.

Number of participants: 8 per minivan (up to 4 minivans on busy nights)

Phenomenal - Due to the experience of our tour guide, Angel, we had a great phenomenal experience seeing the Northen lights last night.
Eventhough we started out with really bad and cloudy weather he found the stars and also the lights.
The pictures are fantastic too, a lovely impression of the evening and for the memories. Thank you so much!

One of those truely amazing experiences in life - We had such an unforgettable night chasing the Northern Lights! Andis was exceptionally friendly, patient, enthusiastic, and made the whole experience so enjoyable. Thank you for capturing these beautiful photos and making it such a special experience.

Unmissable tour great opportunity to see auroras - Very good experience, we were lucky to see the auroras despite the weather conditions, the ANDIS guide is the best!! He took great care to take pictures of us, look for the best location and all the time was very professional and gave us all the necessary information, you really can not miss it, they lend you suit and special boots for cold and rain and all the time you feel well protected, I highly recommend the tour and the whole team!!

Much more than expected - Aside from the fantastic show of lights, we are so thankful that we chose Green Gold of Norway. There's no rush or sense of pushing through to get the tourists out there and tick that box. It's somewhat personalised and Andis was so generous with his knowledge and time with us, making it a truly special experience and now a great memory. Thank you Andis and GreenGold of Norway

Excellent excursion in September to the Northern Lights - We had a fantastic experience 'chasing' the Northern Lights. Our guides, Andis and Aggelos were excellent. They explained everything to us, including how they were trying to find the best opportunity for viewing the lights. They were well prepared, provided some much needed hot coffee at a break point. Although there was a chance of seeing the Northern Lights, it wasn't a strong one, but the guys found the perfect spot to see them clearly. Francisco led the introduction and explained how the evening was going to progress, the theory of when the lights are most likely to be seen, and the process the guides use to put you in the best position to see them. This is exactly how the evening went! Francisco also provided much needed thermal suits, because although we went in September, it did get cold. Tip from our experience, do wear decent shoes or boots, you may need to walk on open ground. We would highly recommend using Green Gold because the preparation was spot on, the guides were knowledgable, friendly and persistent to make sure we were able to see the show.

5 out of 5 stars! - Francisco is clearly an experienced guide in northern lights, from the very beginning he explained in detail how this phenomenon works, gave us clear indications about the tour and solved all our doubts.
We took the minivan trip with Jan, who is a sweet, kind and fun person. He made the journey so easy and enjoyable!
I definitely recommend this trip.

You read this review... - But you still decide to go through with it. After all they are all the same offerings when it comes to this activity. You're herded into a van. You drive for hours, and hours. You're dropped off in a field with other vans. It is then revealed to you that you cannot see it with your naked eyes, you need to look through your phone screen.
You see some green.
You wait in line for your photo.
You wait on the field for everyone else's photo.
80% of the photos are covered by clouds. You're told you're just unlucky. Maybe you are.
You spend hours and hours driving back.
You wonder if it was worth it. Deep inside you know it wasn't. But maybe you got that IG pic. You hope the reactions on IG make the night somehow feel worth it. You know it won't.
