What a great experience in Norway! - The highlight of our tour was our guide Marianne! Her direct no-nonsense style made it first hard to figure what she was like. But after a little time with her we found her very interesting and engaging, a good storyteller and someone we could trust to give her best effort to make our tour a good experience. She was funny and had a good sense of humor and we had many good laughs together. Being a passionate photographer herself she knew exactly where to steer us to get magnificent as well as unusual photos. Being seniors that needed a little help, we appreciated her helping hand to move safely through the slippery snow and ice. This was easily the most enjoyable tour we had on our 17-day vacation.

A true experience - Marianne and George are true guides. Do not expect pre-packaged nice comments for tourists with them. Marianne really will bring you in her place. It seems she knew every stone on the road. And they are photographers. A lot of good advices (we are just beginners), suggestions on different points of view to catch. The weather was bad, wildlife difficult to spot. But they gave us an extraordinary day. And delicious hotdogs...

A relaxing photo tour of the fjords - We had an amazing morning with Marianne and few more travellers to enjoy a photographic tour of the fjords with an amazing weather. She made sure we stopped in every cool place and gave us a lot of photography tips and hot chocolate and cookies. Since we were only 3 guests, the tour had a very familiar atmosphere and we got to know a bit each other. I can definitely recommend if you want to pass a relaxing morning taking landscape pictures.

Successful tour of the Tromsø area - The tour was fantastic. Marianne is a veteran of the Norwegian landscape and nature. She gave us a competent introduction to her homeland. Her photographic tips are easy to implement and valuable. Thank you and big praise to Frederik, our driver and co-guide. Highly recommended

Adventurous and beautiful landscapes - Me and my friend thoroughly enjoyed this tour, especially having experienced other tour cancellations due to bad weather we were so glad this was still running. The day started off cloudy but as clouds slowly cleared we saw more and more mountains and was so beautiful. I also loved the fact that Marianne grew up around these locations and she provided us with hot chocolate and biscuits , which made the whole trip personal and special.

Fun to see amazing views - The views were amazing, we took some great pictures and saw a couple of eagles and rein. We stopped many times to take pictures, along with other vans doing the same thing. Hot chocolate was pretty good.

Poor customer service - This was our first time in Tromso. We are a family of four from the UK and were very excited to do this tour. The reviews were good and the Marianne's website made it sound amazing. Unfortunately, it was not a good trip all round for us. We had just landed the night before and got up early to the meeting point. It was snowing and pretty cold. We met the other people on the tour so seven of us in total. No guide arrived and so my husband contacted Marianne. We were told the start time had changed, Marianne was unwell and a driver was on his way. She had not bothered to tell us all this before we messaged her. We had all been standing outside for nearly an hour by the time the driver finally arrived at the meeting point. He did his best and drove us around, but his skill set was obviously different to Marianne's. So there were no folklore tales, no wildlife information and no photography assistance. We travel a fair amount and understand the weather is often not ideal. It was snowing/raining at times and so the visibility was poor. Most other tours have contingency plans if the weather is not conducive - they proactively either rearrange, discount or cancel, or have places to go to accommodate the climate. Unfortunately, there was no contingency in this case. We took the time to contact Marianne to provide constructive feedback on our experience, to which she sent a very dismissive reply. She did begrudgingly offer a refund of one ticket which we decided not to take up owing to the tone of her response. It was just such a disappointing day. The driver did his best and we had a nice stop for sandwiches, biscuits and hot chocolate. But it was a very long trip sitting in in the back of a mini van trying to see the scenery through fogged up windows. Not exactly value for money. I do not like to write bad reviews but felt compelled to do because of the poor customer service that we received. The weather was unfortunate for us all on that day, but these things happen and we understand that. But it was the fact that we were left outside wondering if the tour was going to take place that day, the driver did not have the same knowledge as offered on the website, and to have no proactive acknowledgement of this, we felt was rather harsh.

Beautiful views, terribly negative tour guide - Unfortunately not a pleasant experience. The tour guide was still in her bed when a fellow tourist called her. At 10:20 am (1 hour late) the guide finally came through. The wait was annoying because it was cold, but that can be put into perspective. Then the guide said that there were only 8 places, but there were 9 participants…. A family of 3 got their money back and their trip was canceled. The guide himself was in a very bad mood and very unpleasant to sit with. We wanted to make the best of it, but she made it really difficult to turn it into something positive. Then she started calling while she was driving (not hands-free) and it sounded like she was annoyed by those 3 fellow tourists who ultimately weren't with us. The guide took us to beautiful places, after all it is a beautiful country. When we thought all the negativity was gone, the guide drove into another car and then decided to argue with the driver of the other car…. I was glad the trip was over.
