After finding the ideal location, a campfire is set up, where your guide serves hot drinks, dinner, and cookies and explains everything that you need to know about the Northern Lights while photographs are also taken either before or after/while having the campfire.
Thermal suits, foot, and hand warmers are provided.
Drop-off at your hotel or accommodation (if it is on Tromsø island)
Ultimately, patience is key in nature. It is about understanding and respecting the intrinsic timing of the natural world. It encourages us to slow down, observe, and appreciate the beauty and complexity of the environment in its own time and rhythm.

Search for auroras - The small group tour experience is certainly ideal even if it costs more. Our group was 7 people. In Trompso we had very cloudy days and snow, but on the day of the tour the guide took us well north until the road ended and there the sky was partially uncovered and we managed to see auroras, although not in all its splendour. But the experience is wonderful

Chasing the Northern Lights with Boreal Quest – Worth Every Moment! - This was an unforgettable adventure! Our tour started in Tromsø under challenging conditions—thick clouds and snow made the hunt for the Northern Lights feel uncertain at first. But thanks to our amazing guide George, who was incredibly knowledgeable and determined, we drove all the way to Finland where the skies finally opened up.
We were rewarded with perfectly clear skies and the incredible timing of an Auroral substorm expansion. Seeing the Northern Lights dance across the sky like that was absolutely breathtaking.
George made the whole experience feel safe and personal, always checking that everyone was comfortable and enjoying the moment. His passion and expertise really showed.
It wasn’t the easiest chase, but it was so worth it—and I’d recommend Boreal Quest to anyone looking for a truly memorable Northern Lights experience!

Please take this aurora tour - I found George on Tripadvisor because it was all 5-star reviews. And no wonder he was a all five star! The tour was very well planned from the beginning to end. We had a very cloudy day and I had very low hopes for the aurora, however I saw the BEST aurora out of the four days of aurora tour. George drove us all the way to finland to show us the strongest lights at the perfect location. We arrived perfect on time and did not miss the aurora explosion. Ive talked to some other people the next day and some of the other companied were short of time to arrive to finland so they missed the Ms. Aurora explosion! But George did not make us miss it.
Also, he makes a great fire + amazing soup. Oh! I even LOVED his car, it has a window above you so you get to see the stars and make sure not to miss the northern lights.
Lastly, he takes AMAZING photos for you. Photos are VERY inportant.
I am so grateful to have found Boreal Quest, our amazing guide George, on Trip advisor.

A superb experience with a great, knowledgeable, guide who did his absolute best - Incredible tour and I know there can be no guarantees but George worked so hard to maximise our chances of seeing the lights and he also gave some great advice on taking pictures with my own camera too. Will go back with him in the future!

Excellent experience! Perfect guide! - We booked this Northern Lights tour on the recommendation of a colleague. George asked us to postpone the tour by one day due to bad weather and avalanche risk. This was the best decision as we had an exceptional night.
From pickup to transport home (we were taken to our Airbnb which was a bit outside the center) everything was perfect. George is a very friendly, courteous guide. He also has a lot of knowledge about the Northern Lights and the surrounding area.
Especially for photographers or amateur photographers George is highly recommended because he takes very nice pictures of everyone and also of the Northern Lights and makes them available to everyone after the tour. He also helped everyone again and again to find the right settings to take beautiful photos of the Northern Lights.
We had a good 4 hour night full of Northern Lights. A very delicious hot chocolate was served (or coffee/tea). Soup and biscuits were distributed around the campfire. If necessary, thermal suits, hand/foot warmers and photo tripods were also provided.
It is also worth mentioning that it was a very intimate group atmosphere due to the small group size of max 7 people, which we personally liked a lot because George had so much time for each one and you could enjoy the spectacle in the sky in peace.
In summary, it was a very great night with the perfect guide. We would highly recommend him.

Terrific lights, excellent host. - Absolutely terrific night viewing a fantastic light show south of Tromso.
George was an engaging, courteous host. Everything worked like clockwork from pick up to drop off. We felt extremely lucky as he had texted the day before offering to reschedule due to avalanches and poor weather. The reschedule led to a night of almost 4 hours of a continuous light show, something we understand is very rare. We hardly had time for the hot chocolate and soup for fear of missing out on the light show above our heads.
George was a perfect host, always checking in, helping amateur photographers like me with our cameras and tripods ( of which he had spare ones) to take lovely photos. He also takes time to take photos of you and your party and send them to you a few days after.
We spent around 6hrs door to door with around 4hrs viewing the lights, I understand this can be much longer sometimes to get to a viewing place further away and the weather of course is unpredictable, so the glimpses of lights can also be fleeting but still stunning. George and his fellow guides out from other companies keep each other informed to try and get the best for their guests.
Overall everything went like clockwork, an excellent host, a terrific trip well managed. Highly recommended.

Experience of a lifetime - We saw the most amazing display of aurora borealis imaginable. Even though we had really clear weather, György - our guide - took the time to drive us more toward the mainland for even clearer skies and a better experience. He was kind, cool and explained a lot about all kinds of aspects of the northern lights, he is very knowledgable. He took some amazing photos too! Unforgettable experience, it was perfect!

Outstanding! - This was the highlight of our time in Tromsø - not just the Northern Lights themselves but how amazing George @ Boreal Quest made the whole adventure. He was engaging, super knowledgeable, really informative and an all-round excellent host. His constant reviewing of the real time weather updates meant that we secured a great location, cloud free, to enjoy this magical phenomenon. The campfire, coffee and soup, cookie and (as I was celebrating my 50th birthday) even some birthday cake, made the whole evening truly memorable. Nothing was too much trouble and everything was catered to ensure we got the most out of our quest. Would highly recommend Boreal Quest - it was a five star experience from start to end!!

Northern Light Trip - Firstly I would like to say Thank You to George , he was recommended to me by another Tour Guide and George from day one messaging , to wats app’ing on the day he was very good and getting back to myself
We went on the trip on the 9th March thinking we may of had go to Finland, but we were lucky enough to find a spot in Norway thanks to George
I loved his story telling and explaining best he could to make things easier to understand
The lights were unbelievable in the spot he found us, and we managed to get a wonder wall (i think that it what it was called ) right over us , spectacular show for us and I managed to even catch a glimpse of a shooting star , as quick as it was
If you want a tour , I cannot recommend George highly enough , a really lovely fella and was interested in the people on the tour too , Norweigns in a nutshell there so far on my trip
