Highlights
  • Great Smoky Mountains Institute at Tremont - More Than Just A Hike - This Is A Gratitude Experience

This is suitable for all levels, beginners to advanced. We’re going to ditch the crowds and traffic and head out for a waterfall hike off the beaten path in the Smoky Mountains!

This trail features several excellent waterfalls and cascades and is arguably one of the best waterfall hikes in the national park.

We’ll be unplugged, free from the distractions of our phones.

This hike also includes gratitude, so please bring a positive attitude! We’ll start the hike with gratitude so we can be in the right frame of mind. We’ll play some other gratitude games using a deck of cards called The Grateful Deck that contain fun questions that remind us to be grateful and positive. There is a place along the trail to stop and sit by the waterfalls, while playing the Grateful Game.

Since there are no phones on this hike, I’ll take pics. Feel free to bring a regular camera.

Don't Miss This! - We had an amazing family trip to eastern Tennessee, and my wife and 3 teenagers all agreed that the Gratitude Hike with Scott was the BEST part of the trip. The kids were reluctant to be without cell phones because they love to take photos, but Scott took dozens of beautiful photos for us - both posed and "action" shots. I won't spoil the surprise, but I will say that there are some great unannounced experiences as part of this hike. We highly recommend it!

More than just a hike guide! - Scott’s unplug hike is not to be missed! Hiking up the beautiful Smokies is an experience on its own and Scott still managed to make it even more special for us. He encouraged us to leave our phones behind so we could really unplug and I was a little bummed to not be able to take pictures but he photo documented the whole hike for us and the pictures were even better than I could’ve taken on my own. He brought along delicious snacks and gave a great history of the area and guided us on a journey of gratitude that we all could use a little more of. Highlight of our trip for sure!

Best part of our trip to The Smoky Mountains! - My two best friends and I were on a much needed girls weekend trip to the Smoky Mountains and booked Scott's gratitude hike on a whim.......and boy oh boy are we grateful we did. We had a fantastic weekend but this hike was probably our favorite part of the trip. We've known each other for two decades but in the short span of a few hours, got to know ourselves and each other even better. After the hike and conversations, all three of us kept commenting on how wonderful Scott is and how much we enjoyed this shared experience. The hike was beautiful and Scott made us feel comfortable and relaxed and took many fantastic pictures of us so we could "unplug" and just enjoy the scenery and conversation.....book this if you are able to- you'll be grateful you did for sure!:)
