BOOK IT - One of a kind experience, the city within the walls was mesmerizing. Cute little pub/hotel outside the walls if the interior gets confined

Leave the driving to City Tours of Toulouse - I wish that this service was available all over. You get driven to your destination, in this case Carcassonne. You then have the day to meander at you own pace and experience what you would like to see, eat, etc. Then you head back to the bus and back to Toulouse. Very reasonable as well.

5 personnes heureuses de Québec - The day trip was worth the money. The bus departed Toulouse on time and we were picked up at Carcassonne on time. The travel agent who welcomed us at the bus was bilingual and gave clear instructions for the day. Apart from showing up for the bus on time, we were on our own. The ticket we were given at the bus, for entering the Chateau, let us waltz by the people waiting in line to buy a ticket. Logistically, everything was excellent. The medieval town is photogenic, and we were pleased by many views from the Chateau itself. We spent some money at the tourist shops and sandwich shops and enjoyed some drinks for an hour at a shaded bar. We were all pleased.

Stunning 😍 - The walk along the rampart, watching some sword fighting and the medieval camp displaying how people lived in medieval times. The architecture was stunning and is well maintained.

Good value trip to Carcassonne - I consider the cost of this trip to lovely Carcassonne to be good value, as the price also included the entrance fee for Chateau Comtal and the ramparts. The only downside for us was that it was too long a day, and we saw everything we needed to with a bit too much time to spare.

We were very lucky that... - We were very lucky that the weather was bright & sunny (it was mid December) so we had great views from the battlements across the town below and to the mountains in the distance. Everything went as planned and the coach that transported us was very clean and comfortable so overall a very good trip.

Shuttle service without any fuss - In the morning at the meeting point on the bus, we were given a brief explanation of the process using a brochure. Then we went to Carcassonne, tickets for the castle on site were included. We were picked up again in the afternoon. If you are looking for a guided tour with lots of information, this offer is not for you. If you are just looking for an uncomplicated shuttle service at a fair price, this is the right place.

Convenient & easy transport and tour option to Carcassonne - The tour is pretty basic. They transport you to Carcassonne and back from Toulouse via air conditioned bus and provide you with a skip the queue ticket to the castle, and leave you to explore the castle (for which you can get an audio guide) and village on your own, which suited me but may not suit everyone. It’s a good option if you don’t have a car to get out to Carcassonne, which is definitely worth seeing.

A blast from the past in Carcassonne - The site of he medieval city of Carcassonne dates back to more than 400BC. The inside of the enclosed city is only accessible by walking the various cobble stoned narrow streets full of hidden corners where artisans give you a taste of how things were done in the day. There are ample souvenir shops to keep young and old happy. A guided tour is the best way to get a feeling for the place. Unfortunately there is no high ground to take photos of the layout. The best general photo can be obtained when walking on the main street outside the village. For a cost, a small tourist train takes you around the perimeter of the village while a recorded tape explains some of the highlights through headphones.
