Highlights

6-hour Trek from Marrakech\n\nToubkal Guide - Day 1: Commence with a pickup at 8:00 am from your lodging in Marrakech. Following a roughly 1.5-hour drive to the quaint hamlet of Imlil, your hike begins. Traversing the Mizane Valley, you’ll first encounter the village of Aremd before reaching the holy site of Sidi Chamarouch. Your journey then heads eastward, crossing expansive floodplains and ascending along donkey paths into the towering crags above the valley. After fording the river, you arrive at the revered Sidi Chamarouch sanctuary, a destination for both sightseers and pilgrims. The path then steadily ascends, weaving and zigzagging to the snowline and the refuge at 3206 meters. Your encampment for the night will be in a tent near the refuge.\n\nExpect to walk for approximately 5 to 6 hours.\n\n### 10-hour Trek and Return to Marrakech\n\nToubkal - Day 2: With an early start, you’ll embark on the ascent to the summit of Jebel Toubkal, the tallest peak in Northern Africa. The climb follows the south cirque, skirting the stream above the refuge. While the trek is mostly uncomplicated, the loose stones and high altitude may pose challenges at times. Nonetheless, the panoramic views en route are more than compensating. Upon summiting, you’ll be greeted with awe-inspiring panoramic views, ranging from the Marrakesh Plain to the High Atlas in the north, and as far as the Anti-Atlas and the Sahara to the south. The descent retraces your steps down the mountain, leading back to Imlil. You’ll then be transferred back to Marrakech and dropped off at your original pickup point.\n\nAnticipate a walking duration of about 9 to 10 hours.

Amazing trek up Mt Toubkal - We had a fantastic hike up Mt. Toubkal. We couldn't have done it without our AMAZING guide, Mohammed Ali. Mohammed is basically the mayor of the mountain. He knows everyone on the trek. The hike was challenging, but Mohammed adjusted to our pace and encouraged us throughout the hike. The food at the refugee was the best meal I had on our entire trip to Morroco! Would highly recommend it!

Awesome Trek with an Awesome Guide - We booked the Toubkal weekender through Evertrek company which led us to meeting Mohammad from Toubkal Guide . What an amazing guide , very knowledgable , caring and he actually made our trek the best experience ever . Fantastic cook , knows everyone on route so I’m presuming he is a well respected guide and rightly so . We felt safe at all times of the trek . We hope to visit Imlil again one day and hopefully Mohammad again too 😊

Hassan and Yussef forever in my heart. - I did this tour with my girlfriend and we were both very pleased. We got a very nice guide called Hassan who knew everything about the mountains and helped us cross the most difficult obstacles on our way. The cook Yussef was also very nice and the food he served was better than in most restaurants we ate in. The experience was just amazing and it wouldn’t have been the same without these two guys. 10/10 without a doubt!!! (And worth ever penny)

Excellent Guide, Beautiful Landscapes, Quick Pace - Our guide Said was incredible. We were an English speaking couple and he and Hamid (our muleteer) took very good care of us. Said was very knowledgeable and a great conversationalist eager to hone his English skills with us. We had no issue communicating at any point of time. As a group of two, the portion sizes for good were massive - much more than expected. Along the trek up, I got hurt and Said did everything in his power to make sure we got up to the refuge safely and efficiently. I made the decision that i would not attempt the summit due to my injury, and was not pressured in any way shape or form by Said - I would give Said and Hamid a perfect review for our experience. Speaking with other tourists along the journey, our experience sounded to be MUCH more effectively planned and coordinated to ensure the comfort and safety of the hikers. That being said, I understand that this is an express hike however to me it is unclear why the first day up to the refuge needs to be done at such a quick pace (5-6 hours). We took closer to 7 hours due to my injury and still arrived with plenty of time before dinner or sunset. I feel like there should have been additional scheduled breaks for longer period of time as you ascend the mountain to enjoy the views - perhaps even optional but a scheduled prolonged break after the initial lunch break is something I believe this tour would benefit from.

Rewarding 2 day hike up Toubkal! - Amazing 2 day trip to the top of Mount Toubkal! We went up in February so you have to use ice axes and crampons, but I feel this actually potentially made it easier than in warmer months because there aren’t any sliding rocks near summit. It is a tough climb on the second day, as you start at 4am and the altitude sickness came and went in waves, but our guide Abdul did a great job of encouraging us to the top and walked at a steady pace with us to make sure we made it. If you are on the fence about this as I was, book it with Toubkal Guide! It’s a challenging trek but the views from summit are breathtaking and the sense of achievement is incredible!

Toubkal ascent - Exhausting but great experience. Trekked from Imlil to the refuge on Day 1 and then, starting at 4 a.m.., to the summit and back to Imlil on Day 2. Everything was well-organized. We had an excellent guide, Hassan, who was vigilant in making sure our group of three was safe and proved resourceful in fixing a broken crampon on the descent. Yusuf prepared massive meals and Donkey carried the supplies. Thumbs way up and a huge thank you to Hassan for taking his job seriously and being good company.
