Only 15mins (on weekends and Holidays give yourself extra time) from San Juan by Uber near the airport. Check in time 30mins prior to tour time. Meeting point is about a 5 minute walk to our Kitchen, so If mobility is a concern, please contact us in advance so we can accommodate you.

Fun, friendly, interactive and delicious - Truly a great experience! The set up is great, although it’s in a neighborhood it is set up like a cooking school inside. As for the cooking, the instructions for are easy to follow and before you know it you’re eating delicious local food! Chef is so friendly and attentive making the experience memorable. He even took action photos of us cooking and sent them afterwards as an added bonus. Another nice touch was the Pina coladas mixed with some history of the country and its culture. Thank you for everything.

Fun time with Puerto Rican recipes! - This was such a fun experience! Mauro was amazing and entertaining host/chef. Like the other reviews, don't eat beforehand even though the smells from the place you meet near makes you want to. I'm not a big coconut or pineapple person, but the drink you make is divine, maybe because it was so fresh!. Loved the small group setting, loved the PR history and cultural insight. Highly recommend! (Side note: if you are still hungry/thirsty afterwards, there are really good cheap options nearby. also found it easy to Uber to/from San Juan Mateo neighborhood)

Great class for anyone!! - This was an amazing experience! Chef Mauro was so engaging and you can really tell how passionate he is about cooking. He had lots of interesting information about the food and culture of the island. He made me feel very welcome in his kitchen as well. Additionally the food was delicious and fun to make. Be warned that it may take longer than an hour and a half, so maybe budget yourself some extra time. I’d recommend this class to anyone.

A fun and delicious taste of Puerto Rico! - A fun, delicious, and great experience! Chef Mauro was passionate about Puerto Rican cuisine, and an engaging teacher! He shared interesting facts about Puerto Rico’s cuisine, culture and sustainability, and instructions were fun and easy to follow! I’ve already shared what I’ve learned with friends and family, complete with fresh piña coladas! Gracias Chef Mauro! Can’t wait to come back to Puerto Rico and cook with you again!

Delicious learning - Had a great time! Learned some history, and learned the BEST way to make mofongo cups. Brilliant. Also learned how to do everything in the air fryer which made it so attainable.

A Fun and Lively Family - Friendly Class and Delicious Food! - Our family, including 3 children ages 14, 12, and 9, loved this experience! Mauro wove so much history, culture, salsa music, (and even a few dance steps) into this delightful cooking experience. We loved the fresh, local ingredients, easy to follow and safe, accessible content, and enjoying eating and drinking the finished results! The set-up is perfect and the space is so warm - like being in the home of a relative. Mauro is enthusiastic, thoughtful, and responsive. We even bought some of his delicious hot sauces to bring home!

A truly delightful afternoon - This was terrific fun. We went to a charming beachfront neighborhood we wouldn’t have otherwise visited. Saw how folks were rebuilding after Hurricane Maria. Our instructor shared traditional recipes and techniques. We left very full from the delicious lunch we had prepared. And as a follow-up bonus we received an online cookbook with all the recipes.

Fun Cooking Experience - Mauro was great. Yummy food, fun experience and some interesting Puerto Rican food history. Also, he was very receptive to our many food restrictions and made several changes to his standard menu.

PR trip cooking class - If you're looking for something to do in puerto rico, I recommend this class. I was the only person booked for the class. Chef Mauro was hospitable, informative and entertaining.
