Highlights

Set sail on the Tall Ship Kajama from the heart of downtown Toronto. This is a 2-hour experience that includes 30 minutess at the start of the tour boarding the vessel. After setting sail, you can help your experienced crew raise the raise sails on the 3-masted 1930s schooner. If you don’t wish to partake, no worries; just sit back and relax with an ice-cold beverage from the fully licensed bar. Sail either through the east or the west gap of Toronto’s beautiful harbor. Take some pictures of the Toronto Islands and the downtown skyline, and take time to explore the historic sailing vessel. After the sails are up, your crew will sing a couple of sea shanties while coiling the ropes. Midway through the cruise, they’ll fire off the ship’s cannon, which is always a crowd pleaser! Once out of the gap you will be fully under sail. You can ask the crew questions about the vessel’s history, the surrounding areas or just sit back and enjoy the background music that is played while you take in the views. You can also order some typical pub food from the onboard restaurant. After 1.5 hours on the boat, return to the dock, where you are able to purchase a souvenir photo of your excursion.

Relaxing Excursion - Perfect way to see Toronto from the water. The tour was comfortable and smooth with a little commentary about the ship. They do have a bar/restaurant on board and also offers tourists a chance to help raise the sails. The kids really seemed to enjoy that! We took many photos and enjoyed the warm breeze.

Kajama Tall Ship - The girlfriend and i enjoyed this boat ride very much. She loved the experience as she has never been on a boat. She loved seeing the coast of the city all lit up at night

Great Night! - We took the evening trip to see the gleaming lights of Toronto and it was an amazing view. We did have a terrible time finding the ship dock and wished that we had called ahead to find out that it is located on the water behind the Harbourfront Centre.

Good cruise. Timings were an issue. - We really enjoyed our experience on the tall ship. My one comment would be that is advertised as a 2 hour cruise, and whilst we were asked to be there early (before 1.30). We boarded at 1.30, but did not leave until 2.00pm. Cruise was probably 1 hour 15 mins. A little frustrating.

Nice but expected more - The ship was nice, and people running the cruise were great. However, we really did not sail with a majority of the power coming from its engine not the wind. Also, did not leave the bay and for 10 minutes we did not move before turning around. Lastly, sunset cruise is not worth the extra money because you really can’t see the sunset because we stayed in the bay. I expected some real sailing, at least exit the bay so we could see the sunset.

Tall ship didn’t live up to the hype - Got there at 5:15. Boarding started at 5:30 and even though everyone was on board by 5:45, we still sat at waited. If you go, just arrive by 5:45 and you won’t have to wait too long. Wish crew would have explained more about how the ship and sails work. Also mentioning the buildings we passed in the harbor would have been nice. When they had problems bringing the masts down, nothing was. explained. Maybe having a tour guide on ship instead of just deck hands?? Sunset was nice though.
