Recommended. - I selected this tour because it included all the spots I wanted to see without including places I didn't want to spend time visiting. The communication with RM Cesar was easy and efficient. He met us at the designated spot on time and we were in Rui's capable hands the rest of the day. Rui is a proud Portuguease man and a font of historical and cultural knowledge about Portugal. We hit all the spots and the plan for the day was very clear and exactly what we wanted. We felt he was a safe driver and negotiated all the crowds and time frames with ease and expertise. It was a wonderful day and a memorable part of the trip. We were particularly thrilled to visit the Convento de Christo and Batalha.

What an amazing day. Such a variety of scenery and places to visit! Rui brought them alive with all his knowledge - Tomar was the highlight of the day The Convent of Christ was amazing as were the old castle walls. So much history there. I particularly enjoyed Rui’s commentaries as we drove along on each site and its history. Once we had arrived I was ready to go! Obidos was a gorgeous walled town. Very picturesque Nazare is where the massive waves come in each winter. A surfers paradise. Thanks for a great day. I really appreciated your careful driving and friendly nature.

Excellent guided experience - Cesar is a true professional with real expertise. This experience is one I will keep with me forever. His advice and knowledge is excellent. He knows how to navigate around crowds to ensure you are able to see everything without long lines. That really maximizes your time and makes it truly captivating without any distractions. If you head to Portugal you should be in touch with Cesar to book a guided experience as you will not be disappointed.

Wonderful tour and guide - The guide was fantastic. With great knowledge of history and culture and a great love for Portugal. I recommend it to the fullest. Great Roman legacy tour!! - Cesar was super knowledgeable of the history behind Portugal and all the sites we visited. He kept the longer drive very interesting and was sure to highlight the areas he thought we should focus on. My suggestion before booking the tour is to research the listed sites before booking the tour. Cesar would often chime in on parts of the tour he thought were skippable (likely based on other tour feedback or his own opinion), but most of the time we very much enjoyed those parts. Not a huge critique of Cesar, just more of a friendly warning to others to plan ahead so you get the most out of your tour.
Overall we enjoyed our tour and learning about the vast knowledge of Portugal that Cesar had to offer.

Cesar's Tour was the best - what an amazing day! - Cesar was incredible. He arrived in a beautiful car on a beautiful day; and despite some traffic issues due to construction, he helped us to see the entire itinerary. He was timely and knew the best places to get the most beautiful photos. Everywhere we went we arrived before the crowds. He was so kind and knowledgeable, my friend and I learned so much from him about local Portuguese history. Thank you, Cesar.

A Look at Medieval History - We could not have asked for a more perfect tour. Our guide Cesar was as perfect a guide as one could hope for. Not only was he a wealth of knowledge about the sites we visited, he gave us much information beforehand as we drove that helped familiarize us with the country’s historical background.
My husband and I are both huge history buffs, and Cesar gave us so many pieces of Portugal’s history that previously we had not known.
Cesar is extremely articulate and communicates in an easy-to-understand manner. His passion for history is very evident and he made the whole day so interesting and fun. He has a zeal for life that makes the day lively.
As a side note, he shared interesting notes about what life is like in Portugal. His family’s roots are in Portugal, so he was able to provide us with a clear understanding of the area’s past as well as its present existence.
I can’t recommend this tour enough! Thank you, Cesar, for being a highlight of our trip!

Could have been much better - This is not a guided tour be aware,, this tour missed a guid on site specially in Tomar.
The company provided a knowledgeable driver NOT a guid, and a rich site like TOMAR needs an experienced guide.

Nice ride to Obidos and Tomar - Although the ride was lovely and the sights beautiful, particularly Óbidos we did not get much information about history , facts. We traveled in a luxurious Jaguar and the driver, Pedro, was very polite and friendly , and although we knew the tours inside the castle or churches would not be guided, we were expecting he would be able to offer more knowledge to our trip. In my case, I got a very comfortable ride to both cities.

Bad and sleepy driver & not really much to see - As a general rule I don't do reviews - either positive or negative, but am making an exception in the hopes of helping other travelers plan and for the tour company to do better in the future. Our tour was organized by RM Cesar company. As others have said, this really isn't a tour - it's more of a ride to the places in the description. To that end we were picked from our hotel on time in a nice vehicle. I believe our driver tried to give some interesting information, but from what my son told me it was not cohesive. My son was the only person in the vehicle who could hear because he was sitting in the front seat. No one else in the van could hear what the driver was saying. My biggest complaint is that the driver was not a good driver. When talking the driver was waving his hands around and once when pointing at something the van went over the rumble strip on the side of the road before he regained control and brought it back to the middle of the lane. The driver was also constantly yawning and nearly fell asleep at the wheel on the way home. The trip experience could be enhanced by a knowledgeable guide who could also lead participants through the sites. All that said this is far for a day trip requiring quite a lot of windshield time - look carefully at the itinerary posted in the description. The convent, castle and monastery were ok - not really sure they were worth the time/expense. The other stops were really just going to town to eat/shop/look around. On this same trip to Lisbon we did a full day tour to Sintra, Cascais, Cabo da Roca and Pena Palace. Less driving & the guided palace tour was a treat!
