Highlights
- Mexico City - The pick up will be at your hotel or another address in Mexico. The way to Nevado de Toluca is around 2 and a half hours. We need to start early and avoid the hard traffic in the exit roads from Mexico city.
- Nevado de Toluca - We will arrive at the first parking zone in Nevado de Toluca named Deer Park (3500 meters above sea level). After the payment We will ascend using the vehicle until the second and last parking zone (4180 meters above sea level). On saturdays and sundays We need to ascend and descend riding the rustic vans of the local people. The hike will start at 4180 meters above sea level ascending until the high of the crater at 4200 meters (1 kilometer walking). From this amazing viewpoint you will see the 2 beautiful lagoons. We will have a walking descend inside the crater and hike next to the lagoons and ascend again until the crater and to the parking zone. You will take beautiful photos. All this hike around the lagoons is around 6 kilometers. We will return to the crater and walk the same 1 kilometer to the parking zone. The total of kilometers walked during this hike is 8 kilometers.

The Nevado of the Toluca is the 4th highest mountain in Mexico. This is located almost 2 hours away from Mexico city. This is the only vulcano with lagoons inside its crater. During our tour you will know more about this mountain. A conifer forest in the bottom lands and grasslands with volcanic stones in the top.
The maximum height in this tour is between 4300 meters above the sea level. From the crater you will have a beautiful view point of the rest of the mountain, landscapes and the lagoons named \

A very nice place - highly recommended - It was not possible to go up to the crater due to forest fires, but it was a good experience, with attentive and friendly treatment from the company.

Wonderful brake from the noice in Mexico City - Great tour! Really nice to get up to some fresh air.
Our guide (Ruben) was welcoming and knowledgeable.

Beautiful Tour - Incredible scenery and tour! Our guide Ruben was awesome! It was so beautiful, I proposed to my girlfriend inside the crater of the volcano. She said yes!

Fantastic Hike up Nevado De Toluca - Ruben was a great guide. Patient and knowledgeable about the history and surroundings. Definitely give these guys a call (epic journey) if you want culture or outdoor tours around Mexico City.

So glad we have a guide! - four of us we had a wonderful hiking experience, everything was perfect. Thanks our Guide Guilermo! He's professional and teach us as hiking beginners to take our pace, patient and nice ppl, knows the best spots for the best views. We had a professional guide and nice experience there, we're so glad we had a guide during the route! the weather was also amazing! Will def recommend to friends if anyone wanna try this route.

Excellent Tour, amazing experience - We had a great tour with Andrew, he was very friendly and gave us a great experience door to door. The hike has amazing views and is well worth a visit from Mexico City. The hike was just the right amount of time and gave us the best vantage points of the crater.

Unforgettable hike with views of lakes inside the crater of a volcano - It is an incredible hike. The views are spectacular and make it all worthwhile. Andrew is helpful and knowledgeable. He made sure our journey was paced out. Highly recommended!

Beautiful and majestic - We had a lot of fun, we requested a private tour but when we got picked up we saw other people on the tour with us. Initially we were put off by this but once we arrived and started the tour the group ended up being filled with fun and friendly people so we enjoyed it very much and even had a pic-nic next to the lagoon where we all shared our food with each other.
The place was magnificent, the guide Ruben is a really nice person and he shared a lot of nice stories and info about the crater.
Be ready for a hike.
