Book with Shino!! - Shino was the best tour guide we could ask for. She’s very knowledgeable about the places and restaurants she showed us, she’s also friends with the local staff and was so fun to hang out with! She has spent time living in the United States so her English is great, she’s also happy to help you practice your Japanese which my husband was dying to do. We had so much fun talking and laughing with her! The food tour we did was delicious and didn’t involve walking a great distance which was great because our feet were hurting from the past few days of walking long distances! Overall, this is the tour to book if you want to spend time with a local friendly face who is happy to explain anything to you and have fun along the way!

Awesome tour of Yanaka - great food & new friends - We are so happy we booked this tour with Shino-san! We wanted something special that was more than just “grub & pub”. We found her tour and had a wonderful time exploring and learning about the culture and customs in Japan and visiting local shops for delicious traditional foods. We sampled traditional senbei (crackers), mochi (pounded glutinous rice), the freshest sushi, 🍣 locally brewed beer 🍺 and more! Don’t miss this tour for a truly personal and professional tour. We feel lucky to have found this hidden gem!

Hidden gems Yanaka Food tour - Shino -San is a thoughtful and friendly tour guide. Her positive attitude and depth of knowledge makes you feel like you are walking through amazing experiences with a good friend. Her carefully curated experience exposed us to many new experiences we hadn’t previously enjoyed, even though we lived in Tokyo for 3 years and have been back many times since. I would recommend her tour to friends, family and anyone else needing a recommendation for an interesting tour. Good work Shinzo-San we really felt a connection to you by the end of the day and I’m sure our paths will cross again.

Beautiful day scape full of Edo vibes, nostalgia, and delicious food! 🌸 - I had an amazing time on this tour with Shino! We started the day at Taishakuten Daikyo-ji Temple, a peaceful and beautiful spot with hand crafted wooden carvings nestled in a neighborhood that still holds strong Edo-period vibes—it felt like stepping back in time. One of the highlights for me was visiting the "Otoko wa Tsurai yo" movie museum. Even though I hadn’t seen the film before, I ended up loving the warm atmosphere and the nostalgic charm of 1970s Japan. Now I'm officially a Tora-san fan! Throughout the day, we enjoyed matcha with anko soup, made-to-order tempura for lunch, and several delicious treats along the way like senbei (Japanese rice crackers) and dorayaki. To top it all off, we visited a vintage candy store (Shibamata Haikara Yokocho), where Shino shared memories of the sweets she loved growing up. Shino was wonderful. She's incredibly knowledgeable and passionate, and you can really feel her deep love for Japan and for sharing its culture. Her enthusiasm, attention to detail, and warm personality made this day truly unforgettable. This tour made me realize you don't have to really be on the latest trends or highly touristy places in order to get an amazing and truly authentic experience in Japan. I’d highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to explore not so visited but truly special places in and around Tokyo with someone who genuinely cares. Thank you, Shino!

Fun time in charming old town Tokyo - I had a great time in Shibamata with Shino! It was great to be able to see a part of Tokyo that was out of the way from the main attractions like Shinjuku or Shibuya. We were greeted by friendly locals in a very old town atmosphere. Shino also took us to an historic temple with AMAZING wooden carvings and a stunning garden. After that, we were able to visit the museum of a classic Japanese television character called ToraSan. Being shown around by Shino was very helpful because she was able to explain the history of the area and why it was important from a Japanese perspective, which is something I wouldn't have been able to do by myself. Definitely recommend!!

Good way to start our visit to Tokyo - Shino was very professional right from the time we made our booking. She contacted us via WhatsApp and we started the conversation about what we woukd like to do and see along with any other considerations. We appreciated that we had a sense of relationship with her before we actually arrived for the tour. The tour itself was interesting and we had a very enjoyable morning with Shino visiting places that we otherwise woukd not have known about.

Phenomenal experience - We are a family of four- 2 adults, a teen, and a child and this was our first visit in Japan. We had an absolutely amazing time with our tour guide Shino! She went above and beyond to make our experience fantastic. This tour was the best thing we did in Tokyo. Shino was patient and accommodated our in decisive and last minute itinerary; she was personable with the whole family and engaged with our daughters; and answered questions in a thoughtful response. It felt like she was a long-time friend of the family giving us a tour of Tokyo as opposed to someone we just met. My kids adored her and talked about how “nice and fun” she was. I highly recommend booking this tour if you’re going to Tokyo and want an in-depth experience of the popular and non-popular sights in Tokyo. Both first time visitors and experienced travelers to Tokyo will enjoy this experience. I have already recommended friends and family to book with Shino!

Unique relaxed exploration of a non touristy area - This is a great tour for people interested in retro games, toys, and cartoons. Shino was an excellent tour mixing information about the area with anecdotes about the stores and various characters. There is time to shop, look around, and the vegetarian lunch was an unexpected highlight, where we met an interesting owner who has worked in the area for decades. I'd recommend this to collectors, people who have been to Japan before and want a more relaxed local experience, and even folks interested in something different. I'm not an anime superfan but still really enjoyed it. Shino was very gracious, interesting and fun. I felt like a friend was showing me around the broadway area.
