- This activity requires international driving permit hardcopy issued by local authority of your country such as AAA,CAA OR AA or other valid driving license issued in Japan (such as Japanese local driving license or SOFA license)
- Foreign international driving permit Hardcopy issued by local authority of each country (issued in Switzerland, Germany, France, Taiwan, Belgium, Estonia or Monaco) with Japanese translation by authorized organization is allowed to drive in Japan. Some of the countries like Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Indonesia, Pakistan, Qatar,Colombia, Costa Rica, Brazil and Mexico are not allowed to drive in Japan. Just make sure once you make a booking whether your country issue International driving permit under 1949 convention or not. To drive in Japan, International driving permit should be under 1949 convention to legally drive on the streets of Japan.
- Travelers must show the hardcopy ( not plastic) of the valid International driving permit
- International driving permit issued from FIA, ITA and IDA is NOT valid in Japan.

Best experience - My Dad and I had an 11he layover to Tokyo and decided to take advantage of the opportunity! Omg this was definitely a memorable experience love the sightseeing and tour guides

5/5! Don’t miss out! - Excellent. I’d like to mention (think it’s Fiona) for assisting us as we were late to our booking. She helped us and ensured our experience was seamless. Awesome experience being able to go kart around the Sky Tree and luxurious areas of Tokyo.

Awesome experience - The most incredible experience! Would recommend 100%. The guides were really welcoming and friendly, plus they take so many pics / videos for you, and give you them before you leave.

Mind blowing fun! - If you’re debating on whether to do this or not do it! It as one of the best recreational experiences of my life. Seeing Tokyo from by zooming through the streets was amazing. Granted you’re going pretty fast so it’s not like getting a hop on hop off bus experience. The staff was amazing. 10/10 would definitely recommend. Don’t forget to get your international drivers permit before leaving out ot the US. It took me less than 15 minutes to get from a AAA office, and cost $35 if you don’t have your own photo. $20 if you bring your own passport photo.

SO FUN! AWESOME EXPERIENCE! - Our lead guide Hannah and 2nd guide of the group Luis were absolutely amazing! The whole team at Monkey cart was so friendly and kind from the moment that you arrive. It was raining on our day but luckily the rain passed, and we went out. Since it was the only day we could have done this before leaving Japan, I did not want to miss this chance. The team was willing to be flexible on the weather and I am so glad they were instead of canceling or refunding or rescheduling (which wouldnt work for us). They gave us ponchos in case and we did encounter a light drizzle. We completed the entirety of the planned tour. Hannah and Luis took pictures so don't worry about getting your own pictures. When my aunt suggested taking a video they were open to it and even coordinated such that at one of the stops we all drove by with Luis recording a video. These were airdropped to us at the end of the tour and we even got a couple cool ones that were edited, and a printout of each of us as a souvenir. There were costumes and some reviews had mentioned small selection but don't let that deter you from going to Monkey cart. They had plenty and all of them are cute to ride in the go carts! I was so nervous about driving on the real streets of Tokyo on the WRONG side of the road. It was exhilarating and I felt completely SAFE by following Hannah's lead. Highly recommend and wish I had more time to do the tour at night time as well!

Extreme Go Kart Fun!! - The explanation of how to drive the go kart was easy to remember. Once you drive it's a no brainer. We had a great time riding through. Our tour guide was a lady. She was fun! The experience was exhilarating throughout the whole thing. Weather was awesome. Only issue we had was finding the place on Google maps.

Asakusa for the win! - What an amazing experience. At first I was nervous to drive in the open streets with the regular cars but Travis was a great guide and made us feel at ease. It was such a unique way to see the city and gave us the opportunity to see sites that we would have missed if we didn’t do this experience. A lot of people we passed took pictures and waved. I highly recommend Monkey Kart!
