Burana Tower - The Burana Tower is a historic minaret dating back to the 11th century, a remnant of the city of Balasagun, the capital of the Karakhanid state. Situated in the Chuy Valley, approximately 80 km from Bishkek near Tokmok, the tower originally stood at about 45 meters, but now only 21 meters remain due to earthquakes. Constructed from burnt brick, it is one of Central Asia’s oldest minarets and a significant monument of the Great Silk Road. Today, it is part of an archaeological and architectural museum complex and is preserved as a cultural heritage site of Kyrgyzstan.
