Nice way to contribute to the Amantani community - We stayed with a local family on Amantani Island for 1 night. The boat ride was 3 hours from Puno. On the way, there was a visit to Uros Floating Island. Amazing to walk on an island made of reeds. The elevation on Lake Titicaca is 3,800m so watch out for altitude sickness. We were panting like mad just walking up a steep slope to the local family house. It was also very cold at night. We needed 4 blankets besides our own layers of warmth clothing.
