House of Soviets - Embark on a day journey with an exciting route that blends classic walking with adventurous forays. This is not about moving between monuments with dull lectures. The aim is to reveal the true essence of the country and uncover hidden gems that travelers might not discover on their own. Many of the places we might visit are not listed here to preserve their authenticity. However, our first stop will be at DOM SOVIETOV to greet comrade Lenin, a perfect way to begin the adventure!
-
The Christmas Cathedral - An optional loop through the 100 rouble back side.
-
The Suvorov Monument - The day trip will feature highlights, top attractions, and cherished hidden gems that are not disclosed here. Among the known attractions is the Alexander Suvorov monument in the central square.
-
Green Market Center - A surprisingly modern vegetable market. What they call eco products are simply products in this country.
-
Eternal Flame - A memorial with an eternal flame honoring those who fell in the Great Patriotic War.
-
The Tank Monument - The T-34 is one of the most significant memorials in Transnistria. It is a real combat tank whose crew was killed in Hungary as Soviet troops advanced towards Berlin.
-
Palacio Presidencial - The Palace of Pioneers, Supreme Soviet with comrade Lenin in front.
-
Chitcani Monastery (Noul Neamt) - An optional visit to Kitskany village and Noul Neamt Monastery, offering a glimpse of both city and rural life, highlighting the contrast.
-
Mig-19 Monument - Pridnestrovie is often rumored to be “back to the USSR,” but it’s more complex than that. Being in the right place at the right time can give that impression. A favorite spot to capture this is the Aviators memorial at Balka district, commemorating 30 years of victory in the Great Patriotic War.
-
Soviet Canteen - The journey is diverse and contrasting, blending history with modern life, picturesque panoramas, and impressive Soviet relics. The itinerary is flexible, with some planned and some spontaneous parts, encouraging openness to the world and potential adventures. The operator will not only narrate stories but also guide visitors to the real country and its people.
In summer, kvas, a cool refreshing drink made of water, bread, yeast, and sugar, is sold on the streets. It’s an opportunity to try something authentic, with a recipe unchanged since communist times.
A favorite lunch spot is the Soviet canteen - Stolovka USSR. It’s a super tasty, atmospheric, and authentic place with a charming interior, perfect for a lunch break.
- Kvint - The cognac distillery is optional and can be arranged with prior agreement a few days before the tour. While many countries have wineries, monasteries, and castles, the operator has discovered many intriguing nooks and crannies that aren’t listed on TripAdvisor but will make the day unforgettable and the tour unique. There will be time to discuss the peculiarities of life in this unrecognized country, which is the operator’s native land. Pridnestrovie is safe, intriguing, and welcoming. Join the adventure, comrades! You won’t just meet a guide; you’ll meet a friend!
- Tiraspol - One lunch option is the reincarnated Soviet canteen, an amazing and still underrated place. Perhaps it’s better that it remains undiscovered and not overcrowded by tourists.
- Bendery Fortress - Bendery, the second-largest town in this unique land, offers Soviet and medieval sights. On request, visitors can explore the old Turkish fortress on the Dniester River bank. The view from the main tower is a challenge to reach but a feast for the eyes. Each tour is customized, allowing exploration of Bendery’s Soviet gems, the operator’s hometown, which hides many places where time seems to have stood still.
- Transnistria - Each day offers a unique experience. Entrusting your time to the operator means it’s not just a tour; it’s a way of life. Beyond borders and propaganda, visitors are invited to see the reality. Welcome to Pridnestrovie, where cognac is made, not war!
