This exceptional culinary day trip takes travelers southeast to the overlooked “city” of Librazhd. Here, visitors will explore a remarkable local winery that began offering tours and wine tastings in 2019. There is no need to anticipate a chic tasting room or video presentations. Much of the equipment dates back to before the Russian-Albanian split in the early 1960s, when the winery was transported from Georgia in the former Soviet Union.

Guests will spend about an hour touring the winery and, naturally, sampling the wines. Following the tour, they will enjoy a meal at the winery’s new restaurant, featuring Tava Elbasani - the regional specialty of lamb slow-cooked in yogurt sauce.
